Hey Fletcher, yes I'm still here, just don't have much to show.  been busy but thats the way it goes.  Your Pz I looks good.  Thats a good shade of panzer gray.  I managed to get  a base coat on my pit and inner walls but I don't think its dark enough, I'll probably hit it again with a darker color.

looks good!   You're rigght though, it does need to be darker.  I used 1/2oz Polly S  MOV gray with 3 drops of black in the jar.   Then I used a heavy black wash and went over the entire thing with it,.  When you wipe it away it leaves the base coat considerably darker which I like.

Bumpity bump!
Moving along very slowly but that's probably good in my case.  I darkened it down some and drybrushed the bejeebezzies out of the pit.  Fletcher, I didn't use your suggestion for a dark wash but good idea and I will plan for it on the next one.  I'm just about ready to glue the fuselage halfs together. The fitting pins are askewed on almost every piece.  I have to file them all down for flush fitting, very tedious Confused [%-)]Angry [:(!]

Is there anything else I should do to the pit.  I will add tape seat belts.  I have searched for Stuka cockpit pictures but can't find any.  What color should the headrest be and stuff like that???

I-beam, try painting some of the knobs and dials red and yellow. may not be strictly accurate but it adds a lot to the effect of the cockpit.

Fletcher, are you a junior ? If so, you are one of the most talented junior modelers I have seen. (being a junior myself.) Excellent work on those three.

Yep I'm a junior.  Been modeling for about 5 years now.  Thanks for the compliments! Blush [:I] I'm going to the nationals next year so I'll be able to see how my skill mack up with other juniors.  I'm sure I'll be slaughtered.Dead [xx(]

I-beam:   I agree with Tanky.  Paint some knobs and buttons.  I sharpened toothpick works real well.  Overall it looks great!

I would paint them either a dark red( like the color at the top of the forum) or a dark olive green.  The fabric was changed often so really anything goes.   I good reference book is squadron signals Ju 87 Stuka in action

Planning on it? you bet! It'll be tough to get the models there though, so I can only bring small ones on the plane... also I don't expect to win cuz I have to enter in the regulars category that year.

let me enter your models under my name, then I can take all the gloryEvil [}:)]Laugh [(-D]

Fletcher, the pic in my sig came from a reenactment a couple weeks ago. They have a night battle there which is super cool to be in and watch. Its 10 times better than watching fireworksCool [8D]unfortunately I wasnt able to go since my grandpa passed away that weekend, but next year.

anyways, I'm still in this GB, I just wont be able to start for at least late december.
