Reb: Well, most/all older 1/48 Monogram kits have problems. Mostly fit problems and raised panel lines. If you don't care about that they're good kis because most/all of them have great detail. There was an article on building the Monogram B-26 a couple of months back in FSM.I'm not sure if the He 111 is better. I've never seen or built one.

'Stang10: I'll update the list.

Lodni_K: I'll put you down. That's neat; I'm in the battle for germany GB too. Sharing is fine.

Painklr: I've already got you down. For a first tank model... In 1/35 scale something from Dragon or Tamiya. The older Tamiya stuff is nice. Some innacuraces and rubberband tracks but the fit is flawless, detail good and they simply fall together. For Dragon the kits are a lot more complicated with more parts but are better detailed and much more accurate. With Dragon you usually get indie tracks, either magic of the traditional kind, PE and brass detail extras. Another thing common is a turned alluminum gun barrel.

Dragon 1/35:
Tiger I 'late production' (new, new , new and still harder to find but the ultimate armor kit)
Sdkfz. 251/10 3 in 1
Battle of the Bulge King Tiger

Tamiya 1/35:
M-26 Pershing (new kit)
M-41 Walker Bulldog ( simple good kit. )

For 1/72 scale stuff get either some thing from Revell Germany of Dragon.
Revel Germany's kits have link & lenght tracks while Dragon's have rubber. The rubber one are really nice thought and the paint does not flace off when flexed.

Dragon 1/72:
StuG IV "Late"
Maus
Hornisse
Bradly

Revell Germany 1/72:
Challenger "KFOR"
Pzkfw III Ausf L
Tiger II

Sorry for the long post but I had a lot to say.

Fletcher, put me down for a tank. This will be my first tank. Do you have any suggestions? Also, do we have a badge for this build?

So we can "share" what we build here with another GB? Cool!Tongue [:P] A lot of GB moderaters frown on that, understandably. Since I wanted to do some German armor for the Battle for Germany GB I may get in with a Italeri Tiger I auf E/H1 or Tamiya Panther, both 1/35.Cool [8D] I'd have to wait till the BoG GB start date (Dec 1).Eight Ball [8]

Ok Fletcher, I'm in with the Hasegawa Morser Karl in 1/72. I've been looking for a reason to build this brute, so this works good.Approve [^]Big Smile [:D]

Yes I saw that kit at the LHS yesterday. Looks really nice. If you want to build the B-26 that's up to you but I must warn you you're wading into trouble.

ok, I should be able to do this. I have 2 bombers in the stash, a b-26 and an He 111. Both are 1/48 and are revell and monogram. Now which on e to build......... probably the b 26.

fletcher, the new dragon sdkfz 251/10 3 in 1 kit looks great. I havent had a chance to build it yet, but from what is in the box, o ya! And the tracks will be easier on you as they are workable. But the 251/10 and 250/? are 2 different vehciles.

Yeah, i've built the Tank buster. It's a very nice kit. the cocpit is very nice for a 1/72 kit. The only thing that is bad is that there is a small, unexplaned hole on one of the wings. It shoulden't be there and is really annoying becaues it is right on the place where the gull wing starts making it very difficult to fill. The other thing is the canopy is hard to mask becaues of all the frramework. Small problems.
I'm not a complete newbie to armor as I've built 3 kits so far. All 1/72 scale. A Dragon StuG IV, Fujimi Tiger I and a Revell Germany Pzkfw III Ausf M. I'm thinking I'll build one of those Dragon 1/35 Sdkfz 250 halftracks. The one with the 3.7 PaK gun looks cool. I'tll be a learning expirence for me as I've never done indies or anything bigger than 1/48 scale.

I read a few reviews on the Academy Stuka "Tank buster" and it looks pretty good. Good enough that even I might manage to glue it together straight hehe Tongue [:P]

Gonna be interesting to see what armor you flyboys decide to do. Good choice on the Fuchs 6x6 Awood Thumbs Up [tup]

Sure, you can build that. I guess I should have said armored vehicles because that's what I really meant. So you can build a MBT, APC, transport, 4x4, 6x6, 8x8, ect. As long as it is considered armor

Fletch can you open the armor section up from just tanks to any kind of ground armour? If so put in with TPz Fuchs 6x6 (1:35) that Im gonna try and model as a US Army Fox Chemical Recon Vehicle
