Ya, it's a little different alright not starting with the cockpit.  I have some leftover PE seat belts and even some foot peddles which will be pretty visible in this aircraft and I have an extra seat to replace the awful kit one so all I really have to do is add some details to the sides and back wall of the pit area and of course the control sitck.

well cockpits are best place to start scratch building.....you could make a seat harness from tape and a contol stick from spurl and maybe some other detail like wires hydraulic pipes and contol rods on walls etc from some wire. It must be nice to build a model not starting with cockpit ...lol

Uh... Cockpit?  This kit provided a seat, pilot and a tiny instrument panel that attaches to the canopy... that's it... not even a control stick! Shock [:O]  I have some references so will try to flush it out some but I have never done much scratch building before.  Why can't these companies ever get it right.  I just built a Revell Ag 262 that had beautiful interior detail but a canopy that was opaque at best.  This kit has a beautifully clear canopy but no interior detail. Banged Head [banghead]

A quick progress report on my 1/72 Revell Ar 234C:  I have almost completed the scribing on the fuselage and wings and so glued the wings in place.  The payload and nose section are just dry fitted but it looked so cool I just had to take a picture.  I am going to take a break for a couple of weeks and concentrate on my Sunderland for the Candian GB to try and get that off the desk as it takes up so much space.  Then I can go at this full throtle. Big Smile [:D]

I've never even heard of that aircraft. I did a Google search for it, but nothing relevant came up. Was it something that Germany was working on in the late war period?

I like the badge, I say we keep it. Also, 2000-redrider, no, it's not too late for you to join in the fun. I'll add you to the list!

What a great subject for a GB.  If it's not too late, I'd like to join in.  I'll attempt to build the Arado E.555 by Revell.

I have tried to do multiple images in badges before and they don't work out very good at this scale so I didn't throw in a Mig.  Let me know if this is acceptable.

I have started an Ar 234 C with a buzz bomb for the Old Guns GB but was never officially welcomed into the GB and it appears that the GB has been abandoned so I'd like to jump ship and join this GB if that's alright with you guys. I havn't done much, the kit is an old 1/72 Revell Monogram kit so I have been scribing the wing panels and cleaning up the parts etc. Also, if you give me an idea of what kind of image you want I can throw together a GB badge.

I'll add you to the list! Also, I was thinking maybe a P.1078A, Go 229, Ta 183, or some other German jet aircraft facing off against a Soviet Yak-17 or MiG-9.

Jeff, your Treibflugel looks awesome! Thanks for participating in my group build. If you're going to be building anymore luft '46 aircraft, make sure to post plenty of pics here! :)

Ok here it is .... sorry about the pics they are a bit blurred.....well the salt experiment went ok ...maybe a bit too much in places and with 1/72, smaller patches should be made but hey we live and learn...would like to try it with it again soon...I fancy trying foil next ...hmmmm that could be fun ...never tried that.

anyway I still got a few Luft '46 models kicking around in my box so you aint see the last of me yet. And I will be keeping an eye on whats going on in here with the rest of your projects.

see y'all soon

Well I have been off work with the flu this week so I have had plent time to get on with the Triebflugel. I was just using this as a test bed for some new techiniques anyway. As it is 1/72 and not much detail the options are limited as to what I could do.

Jeff, looking good. You build fast! So there's no way I'm gonna have any progress for a while, still trying to finish up on the superdetailed group build.

Well heres the out come of my first attempt at salt chipping ....I am happy this the technique but maybe overdone it on the lower hlaf of aircraft (which you cant see here Tongue [:P] ) but still a long way to go yet on this one....as you can see I have started decaling and then doing all the litle touch up paint jobs (guns, wheels, engines etc)

I will have to get some more practice with the salt ... but it gives a nice result.

so how is everyone else doing? lets be having some progress reports Wink [;)]

I have done my silver undercoat (looks like something from an old Flash Gordon Movie) and started putting on the salt. Only problem is fist time having done this I am not sure if I have too much or not enough !!!! well I suppose thats what these group builds are all about. I think I will go for over weathered rather than under at least I will get chance to see the effect and I want this baby to look well used.

hope to see some other projects from here soon Smile [:)]

Hmmm, Luft46, I like those weird planes, Revell used to have a nice little collection of those, too bad they're oop now.

On the bench : Revell's 1/125 RV Calypso

Ok settled for a 45 degree tilt ...

well nearly all set to mask and start painting. I think I will try something new on this ....some salt chipping. To give a heavy weathered look. After all, these boys would be busy breaking up large bomber formations.

actually the tribflugel wings did not pivot they acted sort of like a helicopter rotor or a aircrafts prop they kept spinning through the aircrafts flight powered by the ramjets on the wingtips the History channel had a documentary on german secret aircraft of WWII which showed the concept rendered in CGI attacking american B-29's attacking germany in a what if scenario i think the video is available from them at their website they had similar Documentaries for the allies ( England and the USA ), Japan and Russia.

Its taking shape ....a very wierd shape but its still a shape.

ok so whats happened so far ...I have spent most of my time cleaning parts before "fit". Theres alot of filler in there!!!!! I decided to do a complete build before painting for 2 reasons. First I could not trust the fit to come togther properly and second I had a small drama with the "wings" the instructions show them in what I would assume to be the Flying possition however other diagrammes I have looked at show them 90deg to that. I assume that the wings rotated in flight to change from verical to horizontal flight but then I am still not convinced about the aerodimanics of that. Anyone any ideas??????????? I will have to do a bit more research on that one. well eitherway the wing fit is terrible...or perhaps is should be just one point of contact, at the pivot point???? anyway I'm off to surf to try and decide how to position the wings.

Looking good, Jeff! I will add your name to the list.

Also, I don't know how to make badges, so, someone else will have to make one, or teach me how to make one.

ok heres the first picture ....sorry about the photo but its very smalllllllllllllllllllllllllll......one of problems doing 1/72. Any way as you can see being 1/72 you cant expect much detail. I have added the seat straps, the piping /wiring and the service box on bulk head behind pilots seat.
