Thanks, Tony. I've gone a bit overboard on Jagdpanthers lately, having bought a couple of Dragon 1:72 kits, and a Dragon 1:35 kit, and I'm doing the interior of an old Tamiya clunker, as well.

I'm happy with the way the StuG is coming along, though. I can even overlook its serious deficiencies!

Did I mention that I might use the excellent figures from the Dragon E-100???

Nice job! Excellent airbrush work. I like the way the StuG is turning out as well.

Thanks, DM. Due, in part, to my Badger 155 Anthem. I would have preferred to use my ancient Thayer & Chandler sidefeed, but I don't like to use it with enamels if I can help it, and I used enamel for the interior. The exterior is all Gunze Sangyo so far (whatever the ones are for German armour- something in the 400s).

I have a Badger 360, but I clearly haven't mastered it yet, because I can get finer lines with the 155.

I wanted to use a Paasche VL for the interior, but I mislaid my Paasche hose. Why can't all airbrushes use the same fittings??

They look great. I wouldn't mind seeing some close-ups of them, including the ausf G, and if you could just point out where the problems were on the Lee, that would be terrific. I've been hanging out to make a Lee in Russian use, after I found pictures of them on www.battlefield.ru with Communist slogans, and knocked-out at Prokhorovka.

Below are the Mirage M3 (half built) and the Hasegawa M3

The Mirage M3 is a finer kit all together.  The only real problems that I had with it were the connection between the transmission cover and the upper hull, the right side of the cupola, and the air cleaners in the back not fitting so well.  The rivet detal is neat, and the kit comes with 3 main gun options and 5 markings options.

For me, there was a 1mm gap between the transmission cover and the upper hull.  The right side of the cupola is a little fragile and is very difficult to place.  I bent mine and a gap was created.  The air cleaners needed to be trimmed prior to placement.

Here is my old Hasegawa Panzer IV G built in 1999.

Here are some better photos of my Hasegawa Panzer IV F2.  Not bad for paint, decals, and weathering in one day.

Thanks for the kind words.

The Panther looks good.  How is it building up.  Do the tracks fit?

I hope you are feeling a little better.

There's some interesting models being done for this GB. Keep up the good work. Well done on the Panzer IV and Panther.
I'd be interested to read how people paint tracks in this scale, do you mind sharing your secrets ?
I'm onto a Jagdpanzer IV L/48 Lang for the German Armor GB now. It's the Hasegawa kit. The box art vehicle ha zimmerit, but the kit doesn't, so I'm thinking of ading some using Tamiya putty and some kind of pressing tool I'll have to come up with myself. Any ideas ?
Cheers
Tony

I'm just taking it one GB at a time.

I just got back from vacation last night and I'm trying to get caught up on everything. Looks like some good builds around here. I hope to bet back to mine and have it finished before the end of the week.

Chris, banged up my ribs once while mountain biking, not fun. Hope you feel better soon.

Tony,

Thanks for the kind words.

I like to keep things simple in this scale.  For my Panzer IV, I used a brush painted coat of Tamiya Hull Red over primer.  To make them look metal, I did a heavy drybrush of "steel".

For steel, I use an acrylic paste paint in silver metallic mixed with Tamiya Black.  My trick is to not make them look too rusty...just in the low spots.

For zimmerit, I've used squadron green mixed with plastic cement.  I used the Tamiya zimmerit tool to make it.  It took a long time.  I'm soon going to try to melt the plastic with a wood burner or a soldering iron with an improvised tip.  It looks like the most interesting method.

Did you know that Hasegawa makes that kit with an add-on PE zimmerit package?  The kit costs around $20.  Eduard also sells add-on PE zimmerit.

Tax, you could always use a small flat-bladed jewelers screwdriver to do your Zimm. . Good luck with that. I''m doing mine without Zimm.

As for me, I only have pics of the Sherman since I got the most work done on it. I got this one ready for the final stages of construction, although looking at it here shows I still have several areras of touchup to do. The rust on the tracks will be toned down a bit once I give it a black and then a dark brown wash. Also, the hull isn't fastened down yet, so the gap still shows in front.

I also got a little work done on the 1/72 scale Italeri M-8, but not enough to justify taking pics.
I hope you like them, comments are welcome.

Duke,

You build a lot of models, and they all look great.

Nice Sherm.  How good is the kit?

Thanks Grant! I have almost 1000 models built already.

The Dragon kit was a sweet build. I had a great time assembling this one and it is a breeze to paint. I highly recommend it.

Nice work Pog! I like that set up. Keep those pics coming!

Pog, nice set up.  Always wanted to try my hand at wargaming but agian time and space are my enemies. Smile [:)]

Pog,

Nice work.  If it weren't for war games, I wouldn't be building kits.  We played a lot in college.

Just thought I'd drop by to thank you all for a most enjoyable group build. I'll look forward to any more small scale armor ones that come up.
Any suggestions ?

Duke,
They both look to be excellent models. The weathering has really brought them to life.
Cheers

You build nice looking green models too.  I can't wait to get my version of the sherman.

I really enjoyed the tight timeframe for this GB. Got me out of my lethargy. Anyway, I thought I might do another quick build, and since the Light Armor GB seems to be travelling slowly right now, thought I'd set myself a goal of completing the build within one calendar month, with photos on the way.
Therefore, it's one Tamiya Daimler Armored Car by 13 August.
Does anyone care to join me ?
Cheers

Duke, your builds look great as always.  Can't wait to start my Sherman now that I've seen yours but I guess I should finish the build for this one first.  Hope to get some time in this weekend (if the missus' will let me take a break from the home renovations).
