Pavehawk replacement / CSAR-X Group Build

I don't work in 1/72...makes my eyes burn and my fumbling fingers itch.  I've been passing the time looking through Cobra's listings and trying to figure out which set(s) will give me the odds and ends that I need for this project.  But scratch-building is always a good option, too. 

Avus, I'd be happy with just getting to work on some sub-assemblies right now. 

I'd have to agree with Trigger.  Black for the interior, and US type counter measures dispensers.   Is there an AM source specifically for chaff/flares and plume detectors?

Thanks LJ, but there's not much to it, only assembled parts. I'm working on it as long as I can before I move to my new place.

This WE I got Italeri's Loach (not the Echo-Hook as I hoped) and started modifying the Minigun, pics in the next days.

Nice start, Avus.  I'll just come out and say it; I'm jealous!  You've already gotten to play and I'm soaking up the desert heat here for a little while longer.  No matter, I'll get my chance. 

Keep the updates coming in.  That cockpit is beautiful.  Can't wait to see more.

This afternoon I'm going to track down Italeri's Echo-Hook to get some parts.
( I'll also use this 1/72 Chinook to get some measurements to convert Trump's Delta-Hook into the SOAR version ... but that's another story)

Status report:

Assembled the resin replacement cock pit and opened the bay door and half of the hatch.

I'm going to get myself Italeri's MH-47E in 1/72 to steal some parts like miniguns & mounts, FLIR turret, IR sensors and some antennae.

Yep, mine will end up being a veritable "self licking ice cream cone" once I get all the goodies in and on it...Anyone know of a source for 1/48 stokes litters?  I think Cobra Co's going to be getting some of my money for sure on this build.

All right, I screwed up.  The end date is 23 Feb 2007 (not 2006).  But I'm sure you all figured that one out already.  And just because it started a couple days ago doesn't mean ya gotta start right now.  That's why I made the VUl period so long.

BTW, I plan on doing several birds, but here's what I know for sure...An Alaska ANG HH-47, and AK ANG HH-71, and..........I haven't decided yet.

As I said over in the helo section I'm in with a 1/72 PAVE-Helix, either in AF (Alaska?) markings or CG haven't made up my mind yet.

Start 23/04/2006. HEY, That's yesterday ... does this mean I have a go ... tomorrow I'll start working (national holiday here in Italy).

Hope to get some intel on the cargo area to do some scratch building ... all that stuff that you SAR-CSAR guys have stacked up back there.
