I won't be able to start on my Stug IIIB for at least a couple weeks, soon as I get 3 of my other GBs finished.

You have too much group builds going on espin1.  You can call that an orgy!  I bet you're married .... you know .... you get into commitment too easily.Big Smile [:D]Laugh [(-D]

My Emil is completed.  It was a fun build yet a quick one.  Painted with Tamiya acrylics, weathered with pastel chalk and some washes and drybrushing.  Everything fitted like a charm.  So enjoy:

Ok, now that my CF-18 Hornet is finished, I can work on my Sturer Emil.  Does any of you knows were I can find some references on that vehicle before I start?  Also, it looks pretty busy inside the fihgting compartment, do you have any advice on the painting sequence?

Yeah!  Russian stowage was often limited to Fuel drums and big logs.  Don't worry about your Tamiya model.  It will still end up as a nice build.  A paint job and weathering can do miracles.

Well the only one I have is a Tamiya. I really wish I had a different one. It was the third armor model I bought. My first was a Tamiya Panzer IV D, my second was the Dragon Tiger, so you can imagine the shock I got when I opened the box on this Tamiya KV-1 with less than forty pieces! And what is with the Russians, there is no stowage on this thing. None unless you count the towing cables.

I have to finish my Trumpeter HQ-2 missile transporter and then finish my CF-18 Hornet and I'm ready to start my Sturer Emil.  I hope to start it in early September.

Most definately!!  Think you'll do them seperately or throw them in a diorama??

I will update this thread in the next few days.  I have to head back to college classes on wednesday, so I'll try and get it updated before then...

No Panzer, I don't mind at all.  Go right ahead and include that build in this GB as well.  This GB is more about fun and encouragment than hardcore rules.  I look forward to seeing it.

Since your working on Lilya's kit as well, I'll go ahead and switch mine so we see some different builds.  Glad to hear this is picking up a little!

I might be interested in building a Stuka. Anyone know which model was used at Stalingrad and which units participated?

Dave,

Found this online...not sure about the accuracy, but it sounds like they were used in a limited role due to issues with friendly fire.  According to the article, they were used.  If you still want to join I"ll put you down.

Sorry to hear that Jeeves.

Personally I was hoping to get a bigger group, but I'm glad we have the guys we have.  Hope you change your mind.
