Good to hear from you Roger! All the best for your TSA interview.Wink [;)]Thumbs Up [tup] Do let us know how you get on.

I hope despite circumstances, you still have a great Christmas-don't forget to check in on Christmas Eve if you can so we can all see "who got what"

Until then, watch your six and have a cold one on me.

Hey there all you swabbies! I've actually got a chance to check in with you guys, so i figured i would come in and kick up my heels for a bit! Sorry if my input is a little out of date. But i've got a week to catch up on here...

Sorry to hear about the hard times, Roy! Seems to me that you and I are in the same boat (the HMS Hard Knocks, i think) because of budget cuts. But It surprises me that they would do that with a teacher though. I was under the impression that teachers (especially good ones) were very much in demand! But definately look to your family first. If there is anything i can do to help, lemme know, brother! Oh, and i most definately will be able to post the SS pics for Christmas, so no worries there. I may not be able to do it right on the 25th, but they will be posted. As it stands right now, internet access is kinda touch and go for me, so i gotta get it as it comes.

And no worries to Nam or the rest of the guys. As far a the GB and the forum goes, i'm not going anywhere. I'm just going to be online a little less frequently until i get the internet issue sorted out.

But as an update here, i've cleared quarters here last saturday. I've cleaned everything and put all the belongings into storage. Now i'm just hoping for some of my security deposit back. Since then, i've been "the guy on the couch" to my brothers for the last few days while i'm going to job interviews. I've got one this saturday for TSA, so i'm pretty excited about that. It's going to be a temp job of course until i can get through the application process for CBP. The process takes awhile, so I'm thinking TSA is as good a place as any. So we will see how that goes...

Other than that, i've enjoyed viewing some of the progress pics posted since last week. And thanks to Darren for keeping the rum on ice for me. It's friday here, and it's 5 o'clock somewhere. So pour me a drink!!!!Make a Toast [#toast]

To all of youse that's travelling this weekend for the holidays, be careful and stay safe. I know especially back east there is enough snow and ice to fill the whole pacific fleet. So take care, and i hope i get to see y'all back online soon!Pirate [oX)]

Warmest regards,

Roger

Darren, sorry to hear this.  I will have a drink with you.

Do you still get to keep your job?  When can you retake your test?  If I was there maybe I could help you studyWink [;)] or would the rum get in the wayTongue [:P]  Like you offered me I'm here if you need anything.

Nice work Dave! I can't wait to see more-I just know this one's going to look fantastic!

This is my first day off after six days of shifts and I too am somewhat tired, so I will sit here by the fireside and just surf for a while............Wink [;)]

Thanks guys, If I thought I was tired last night I'm wasted today, my 7yr old caught the flu and started up-chucking in the middle of the night.  Yuck [yuck]Dead [xx(]  I know... too much information.

Anyhooo... Mike the fit is pretty good though there were minimal locator pins so some care had to be taken with alignment.  There was a bit of a gap and a step at the wing root but nothing major.  Overall a nice change form the Dragon kits I just finished.  The thing that got me though was the upper wing had a vertical member right at the wing root and as the wheel well continues into the fuselage part there was a slab of styrene going right through the wheel well.  I managed to carve it out without too much difficulty but near impossible to fix the seam that it left.  The other thing is the radiator scoop is one piece with the fuselage and it's near impossible to fix the seam inside the scoop.

Oh one other thing, I had some difiiculty getting the canopy on and aligned with the fuselage.  I may end up with a bit of a step on one side of the canopy.

Couldn't agree more. Once fatigue has set in on me at the end of the day, I've found it nearly impossible to continue anything at the bench.

Looking real good so far, Dave! Thumbs Up [tup] Have there been any fit issues with this kit to this point, because the construction looks flawless.

Thanks Dave, it is hard on the family but all we can do move on.  The worst part of this is that I had no warning it would happen.  Until it did, no warning signs, nothing.  We will get past this.

Roy, glad to see your still around.  I've been in similar situations (unemployment) in recent years and it's never fun, especially around this time of year.  however, I was always able to bounce back and more often than not it worked out for the better.  I know that eventually you'll land on your feet.  I hope you and your family have a happy holidays and that good things happen in the new year!
