Mike
Well I opened my pressie!!!!!!!!! Thank you very very very much Admiral!!!!!!!!! I love it!!!!
Merry Christmas everyone,
This came all the way round the world and was on my wish list so a big thanks to you Richie , I'M CHUFFED!
Cheers...
Richie, enjoy building the Beaufighter.
I received this really neat BMW 327 from somebody, but either in my haste to open it I lost the note of who sent it, or they left off that bit of info. So I will say thanks, as you know who you are. I've been thinking about getting one of these little 1/48 jewels and will construct it forthwith. Would you expect less of the ADMIRAL!!!
Merry Christmas all, and a big thank you to Roy for doing all the work it took to put this together.

X/O checking in! How funny that my SS from last year was my SS this year as well? Thank you John (tempestjohnny) for the wonderful gift, guess I will have to have a crack at a real twin soon!

Unfortunately my camera batteries decided to die on me so there are no pics of the kit Dave sent me. However, if such pics did exist they would show a divine scale P-38J from Academy in ETO markings. Now this is a fine kit in and of itself, however, Dave decided to improve it by including a set of Eduard photo etch seatbelts and a Super Scale decal sheet for additional markings. Dave has presented me with a challenge as I've never finished a P-38, never done a plane with full invasion stripes or used pe seatbelts in a plane before (I have used them in car kits). Thanks Dave, I hope you and yours had a very Merry Christmas. By the way, my sister had fun trying to decipher your address and the stamps used were pretty cool.
Buddy- Those who say there are no stupid questions have never worked in customer service.
A belated Christmas wish to all. I was away for the day so could not get to my puter. Bondo BIll thank you thank you. I received a beautiful Tamiya P-51D from California for X-Mas. Will have a picture later on today but I am on my way to work so.........
THANK YOU AGAIN BILL.
THANK YOU ROY FOR PUTTING THIS ALL TOGETHER
JOHN
Here is my pic.
Fighting to finish this one by year's end! Have done most of the weathering, including exhaust stains, cordite stains, chipping, etc. Just adding all of the fiddly bits now, and hope to have it done soon!
Looks great Daywalker. I especially liek the paint jig you made. Very creative. Can't wait to see her finished.

Thanks Travis, glad you like her!
FINISHED AT LAST!!! That's right, only 16 months to do it. That includes redoing all of the seams when the CA glue filler sank into them, then a botched paintjob, and finally done! I honestly thought this kit was going to beat me in the end. I am not 100% happy with the weathering, but it'll do this time around.Still trying to figure out how to position it so I can get a good shot of the completed bottom. Hope to get that sorted out in a day or so! Still cannot believe it's done, time for a drink!
It's just loverly, Frank. Well worth the wait!
Frank,
Outstanding work!
OH FRANK!!!!!!!! WOWWWWWWWWWWWW!!!!!!!! That is absolutely stunning mate!!! I agree, it was well worth the wait!!! Love the 3/4 forward shot, looks like she means business!!!
WELL DONE!!!!!!
Thank you gentlemen! Sure feels good to finally have this one off of the bench.
Lovely work Frank great to see you finally win over on this one, nice to see it in those colours aswell .
Gotta get back to more guests..........
Great build Frank. Glad that you didn't let it beat you. Always thought the Corsair looked neat with the clipped tips.
I actually am still working on my Sea Harrier from time to time. I have assembled the wings, the engine, and a few other odds and ends. I am adding an Eduard Zoom set to dress up the cockpit. I have the fuselage together with rubber bands just for the pics here. The engine nozzles on the kit really suck so I am debating whether or not I should fix the kit ones or get a resin set from Pavla .

Looking good there Carlos! I was pleasantly surprised this morning to see an email stating that there was a reply here. Good on you for continuing on your Harrier!
Yes a very pleasant suprise , keep the pictures coming Stikpusher. Which kit is this one? I will enjoy watching the progress.
It is the Tamiya kit. Certainly not one of their better kits. Very basic in may areas. I will have to do more add ons with strip and sheet plastic to make up some shortcomings. I know several folks have left with the forum change, but the build lives on!
That's the spirit Carlos! We'll be right here with you for it.
Daywalker That's the spirit Carlos! We'll be right here with you for it.
not all of us have left. When i get back on my Buccaneer I am posting WIP shots in both places.
That's the spirit Richie! I went over to the other place, but it didn't agree with me. So, I am still here too!
Yeah each has its pros and cons. Main thing was I just wanted to make sure I kept in contact with our comrades.
No reason there can't be two NAW GB's. Something for everybody. We need a new CAG, though. I nominate Frank!
secondeded (hic)
and thrice!
Stikpusher I've seen that kit a few times marked down to a real bargain, almost got it a couple of times, I look forward to seeing you whip it into shape.
Richie, I'd like to see more of your Buccaneer build sometime, I remember a seat but don't know if you've done anymore since.
Hehehe umm no I haven't actually. Done the seats and IP and thats pretty much it so far. I started painting the cockpit tub and about to add the PE bits when I started my Jake floater for the War in the Pacific build which I don't have far to go on. Just have to get my size twelves up my backside and get the home stretch finished. Then I will endeavour to complete the Buc before the end of the year. Frank I want you to hold me to that!! So will be forthcoming.
Well I'll wander over and take a look at your Jake, which page is it on most recently? I've a certain lil ol P38 next up for me
