I love the base Darren Thumbs Up [tup] only the palm trees need to be just a little bit closer together so that I can set up my hammock for my afternoon snooze! Clown [:o)]  Seriously though, it looks awesome.  Where did you get the palm trees?

Frank, nice work on the camo, looking forward to seeing the decals. Thumbs Up [tup]

Sorry gents, but I was just outside and saw the most amazing sunset!  I wanted to go shoot some pics somewhere, but knew I only had a couple of minutes before it was gone.  So, I just took a few photos from my backyard and wanted to share it with you.

Darren,  Great work on the display base.  Should be a stunner.

Frank, are you sure that's a sunset & not the fires in California ?  Sweet pics my friend.

Regards,  Rick

Rick,

You're right, they DO look like the fires in CA!  Oh-oh, I hope it really IS a sunset and not a forest fire in Wisconsin heading my way!

Thanks for your kind words about the base lads and for letting me share this build here.Thumbs Up [tup]

Dave,

the palm tress are injection molded and are made by Pegasus Hobbies. I think they are great considering that a box of four trees is half the price of one Verlinden tree. The trees as you see them here have simply had the trunk and leaves painted. I have not done anything else to detail them yet. I'm hoping to gather lots of bits and bobs to help set the scene.

Now there's a sexy '25 there, Darren! Maybe another small edition- if you can find Gilligan and the Skipper (and especially Mary Ann!) in 1/48 scale, it would just complete it in my mind! Probably isn't appropriate. But on the other hand, maybe it kinda is!

And those are some beautiful pics, Frank! Wish i had been looking at those! I'll tell ya, the fires are not at all that pretty. Actually, it's been kinda a really dirty, thick kinda orange outside with all the smoke. And i've kinda been a little hesitant spending my evenings on the bench the last couple of days. I've got painting to do, but there's just too much ash and dust in the air. Wouldn't be so bad if the wind was kicking though....

Warmest regards,

Roger

Yeah, so far we're all ok here. It's possible my crew and i might get called up for fire duty, but so far nothing has happened yet. Kinda glad too, since Bambi buckets off of a Blackhawk has never really been my forte. So in the meantime, all i can really do is keep dustin everything off!

Now were are we at with Gilligan and Mary Ann? lolWink [;)] Kidding...

Warmest regards,

Roger

Just thought I would post some images of the two models in the 'close to completed' stage.

The canopies require cleaning and the small parts need to be put on but they are definately getting closer to finished!

Great looking work Dave, it's a pity you didn't have them finished for the Eagles Day comp, they would have been sure fire winners.

Cheers

Well, i know i am waaaaaay behind the power curve here, but here is a bit of an update on my build. Spent some time working with the inards, and i'm hoping to at least have a completed cockpit by the end of saturday. But, i gotta problem here.

I LOST THE FRIGGIN GUNNER!!!!!!!!!!

I'm looking and looking, but it seems this lazy swabbie here went AWOL on me! Rats! Not sure yet, but my pilot may just be flying solo here......Sigh [sigh]

A quick update from me.......

Even though I have been on leave all week, I haven't been in the workshop too much, been doing a lot of family stuff, so the the rest of the tribe have gone out for the day so that I can have some workshop time. My B-25 is all glossed up, so today I will be putting the decals on this bird and adding a little more to the base.

Hopefully, I wil be able to share some pics later. I really want to get this one finished so I can get stuck into some of the other nice things in my stash.................

Oh boy... it's only 7:45 am here and I am just having my morning coffee.  Guess I had better put a lil' rum in it, though I fear they will not understand at work.  So be it! Make a Toast [#toast]Mischief [:-,]Pirate [oX)]

Roger- Bummer about your gunner!  Glad to hear that Darren has sent out a shore party to deal with his actions approriately.  Flog him I say!

Officers and Crew of FAA GB,

I'm set up at home and am willing to do the FAA Christmas exchange.  I need all of you that want to join PM me your mailing address with the kit era, scale, category you preferred and I will exchange the names.  I will get your exchange name by next week, and we should have the gift in the mail by mid November or sooner for Christmas.  This is a separate exchange than the Secret Santa GB.  This one if for FAA members only, since we are a close group Big Smile [:D] So, lets all get into the giving mood.  Any recommendations are welcomed.
