WOW bodge that looks real nice.  The whitewash really looks great.

 Andy, she's looking good mate. That mapping is a new one for me also. I have'nt been quite brave enough to try a winterwash yet. But it looks as though you are giving me the inspiration and guts to try it.

"Mapping", huh? I cant keep up with all these terms and definitions! LOL!

I used that technique without realizing on my King Tiger recently, but I didn't know that's what it was! I used MIG enamel filters/washes to do it. I'll have ot try that withacrylics; it's intriguing!

It looks excellent, by the way--those Warriors figures are killer! The finish is just superb! 

What'd you use for the zimm? Great to see you back in the saddle!

The FAQ book i have seen on ebay from Panther models several times.

The Tiger is the Italeri one. There is a picture of a tiger 1 with verticle zimm on the turret as was discussed on an earlier post of this vehicle.

The zimmerit is a resin sheet pack bought at a show, sorry cant remember make.

Bodge: SUPERB!!!  I have not heard it called "mapping", but I know the effect you're trying to achieve.  I personally call it "color accents"...in this case the color is actually white.  I study the model VERY close and "accent" the most prodominant colors as they show through from the layer below.  The contrast of the fresh/clean colors (or white) adds a lot of interest, and believability, IMO, to the model. 

You pulled it off like a master...

This week ive decided to get this cat ready for a show on 14th Feb.So ive done a bit more paint detailing and now i have started on a simple base for it to settle on. I mixed some plaster with Migs resin and added mig pigments for colour

 I then added this to the base and pressed the tracks into it  so as to leave track prints . then i pressed it into position and added more mix to the side of tracks so as to represent mud being churned up.  Then i added mix to the tracks and wheels and chassis of tiger. This mix will then get pigment treatment and clear resin to reprecent puddles and wet mud apearance. Photo,s so far:-

Final instalment  ive added the colour with Migs dark wash then added resin water effects then splashes on Tiger , puddles and finaly some Woodland scenic snow. I only wanted a hint of snow as this is after a thaw and everything has gone rather squishy. Hope u like. Cheers .Andy.

Well done sir. Pretty much explains "Tigers In The Mud" for me. The tow cables are lovely. As in, We´re gonna need em. Takes a Tiger to tow a Tiger or, so I´ve heard. Also, mud and water, Some of the best I´ve seen. As for the paint, I  don´t get over here much so it was the first I´d heard of that method. Always learning something here.

Just one question - is the figgie standing on the turret Luke Skywalker?  It looks like he is missing his hand (or is he just pulling on he coat so his hand is in the sleeve?).
