M1130 Stryker Command Vehicle with Crew

I got this set (tank & figures) from a fellow modeler for just $40.55. In ths US I think the tank alone cost around this already.

"Art Instructor" did a great job on this one. Thank you for posting it.

As usual, no idea on realism and no research done on them.  The antennas are about half as short as they should be.  The actual ones are 8 feet long, 2 3/4 inches in 1/35.  The empty shell bag below the .50 cal is turned backwards, the little protrusion in front of the figure is where it should attach to the gun mount.  The uniforms on the figures are all wrong as well.  The AFV figures are wearing ACUs, you can tell this from the box art and the fact that they have upper arm and lower leg pockets.  They should be painted in digital ACU pattern, not in DCU pattern.  The fuel and water cans on the rear should not be the same color as the hull.  The fuel cans (left side of rear) should be a dark tan color.  The water cans (left rear) should be either sand or black.  Not bad overall, but as usual, the details are off.

I agree with Heavy.

Although this is a great build (the vehicle) this is a good example of how small, incorrect, details can turn a nice model.

The small details in this one, IMO, are the figures and others on the vehicle. Just to add one to Heavy's list. The CROW system on the vehicle is a remote system controlled from inside ... not from a gunner up top. There's no reason for th gunner to be a waist defilade. The SAW gunner to the rear would have been at least down to his shoulders.

I didn't really get a good look at the rest of the build as I was distracted by the figures.

This would be a nice "fix me" project. The build's details can easily be corrected without too much damage to the project. As well as additional detail and weathering added.

Again, this is a good build to start with. It just goes to show that the devil is in the details. This also shows a good point as to why I spend so much time gathering information and researching material BEFORE I ever start something.
