Thanks mg.mikael and Bill, we had a blast, in the end it was all about the fun, its great to be able to get together with all the guys and have a whole weekend where the subject is modelling.
Bill as far as I know there are two American Civil War re-enactment groups in Dublin alone and several throughout the Island, and it is true that a lot of Irish fought and died in that conflict.
I don't know if many people are aware that during the height of the British Empire the British army was as much as 40% Irish and to this day the largest regiment is the Royal Irish, what I mean to say is no matter where there's a war, there's usually an Irishman there somewhere and can probably be blamed for starting it, LOL.
There was also the serious side to things as we had visitors from several countries around Europe who are seriously brilliant figure painters, well some are at the top of the game and to be able to see their work in the flesh is really an honour.
Dublin Castle was not cheap to rent for a weekend, even where we were was expensive. Its beautifully preserved in the heart of the city center and that's where "The Tudors" is filmed, its just stunning.
If anybody seen the film Michael Collins they were looking at the castle for many scenes.
