Renwal built the M55 version, and I remember building one when I was a kid. I actually saw an M53 broke down on Highway One in RVN! Marines were using it. Never knew (or saw) they built the 105mm version.

When Italeri initially ventured into the US self-propelled artillery world, they produced the M108 105mm howitzer and the M107 175mm howitzer. These weren't big sellers, but the almost identical M109/A1/A2 155mm (the M108 with a bigger gun) and the M110/A1/A2 8" SPG were better sellers because they were more current and still in use at the time.

Except for Korean War area vehicles and early Nam era vehicles, US 1950s armor was sort of bypassed by model manufacturers.

OK we discussed the M55 from Renwal later Revell and last molded by Revell in their history makers series.

The M52 seen at the start of the thread is available from Hobby Fan as a resin kit

The M41 155mm howitzer was available from CMK, also a resin kit

The M40 155mm gun was the end of WWII and is an AFV kit.

The M43 8 inch is a derivitive of the M40 and can be kitbashed

The century series of guns all OOP from Italeri but all available on ebay

M108 105mm howitzer

M109 155mm howitzer, M109A2/A4 155mm howitzer and M109A6 155mm howitzer

M107 175mm gun

M110 8 in howitzer, M110A1 8 inch howitzer, M110A2 8 inch howitzer

The ones that are missing

M53 155mm gun - 155 mm version of the M55

M37 105mm howitzer - updated M7 Priest on M24 chassis

M44 155mm gun - Same hull and chassis as the M52....kitbash

Thats the list of the US post WWII self propelled howitzers/guns
