Bodges 1/48 Tiger 1 by AFV Club (Quick build)

OK so now ive added some more light coats of pigments,(very diluted) and on the end few photo,s added some dry pigments. Thats about it for the tank, i still want to do some stowage and the figures yet but its been a fun stress free build and one you can do in a weekend.

Looking better all the time .  I'm impressed by the speed that you build.  Way ahead of me.

Yes ive got some figures i have converted for this one , they were originally for luftwaffa ground crew , i will deal with these after the build on the tank is done, cheers.

Looks Great Andy!  This is your first 1\48th scale any scale gotchas?

It's really moving along nicely.The rubber band tracks look great,impressive.Do you have figures for it ?

Wow Andy, Quick Build is right for this one! If you blink you'll be done! Very nice work on the 1/48 Tiger, would never know by looking at what you've done with it so far that it's not 1/35.

Filter coats done

First weathering coats applied in the form of a light dirt wash

Now the chipping starts with fine painted negative chips in a colour lighter than the base coat

Followed by black brown chips inside the lighter ones.

More weathering next.

As i said earlier here are some shots of the progress. Ive given the tank the replacement barrell look and this is in black as all replacements were and not in primmer red as some people have done in the past.

Ive painted the tracks and guns and some of the details

Next comes the filter coats which will tone down the colour and tie everything together.

Cheers , im enjoying this one , its my first 48 scale. Got some paint on her today.Base coat of valejo desert sand mixed with german yellow. Then camo with german dark brown. iI will post pics later, got to go to work now.

The AFV kit appears to blow Tamiya's out of the water, especially with the zim and PE goods. This looks like a fun and quick little build.

Looking really good.  Glad to hear the RB tracks fit well.  I may have wasted my $ on the indies .

Bodge that looks really sweet.  The beat up fenders look terrific.

It's looking very nice! Looking forward to seeing more pictures.  I have the their Sturmtiger and halftrack in my stash, can't wait to start on them.

Well the rest of the kit went together fairly straight forward and even had PE grills for the engine deck which was a nice touch in this scale.

The tracks had a nice fit ,not too long or too short and i glued them down to reprecent the sag in them and i must say in my opinion there really is no need for after market ones on this occasion.Next i primer coated the whole thing. I chose to leave off the side skirts as i have made my own out of thin ally sheet so i can disstress them and leave some off for that battle weary look. I also had to make the skirt holding brackets out of plastic card.I have also cut off the towing cable on one side and had to add all the fixings for this cable to the tank. Also done was damage to the exhausts covers.

Great detailing so far,I really enjoyed this kit,looking foward to see your work.

Nice work so far.  I'm working on the same kit & I agree with you on the fit & detail.  The rubber band tracks look pretty good, but reviews indicate they are a tad too short.  I have the AFV accessory indie tracks which I plan on using,  although I've never used indies before.  Keep us posted on your Build, I'll be following with interest.
