It will be awful hard not to watch this one and you've got a bunch of goodies to go with it too.

Glad to see the interest.  I’ve been on a ‘break’ for a few months with my time being occupied by my new daughter and various other hobbies and it sure feels refreshing to get back to it.   (And imagine my shock at the new look to the FSM message board!)

This is my first “Work In Progress” thread detailing a whole build instead of just the painting and weathering.  I hope it proves useful and I hope to move this build along at a steady pace this once, but we all know how life gets in the way sometimes.

Here are some personal goals with this project:

1)       Zimmerit – be nice to finally do a build with some (and thank goodness I don’t have to do it from scratch)

2)       More drastic/dramatic painting and weathering techniques.  Being my 5th model, I’ve noticed that some of my painting and/or weathering effects may seem pleasant and subtle from a first person view, but when good photos are taken, the subtleties can washout or even disappear.  Want to remedy that without going overboard to make a more exciting model.  It’s all about the right balance.

As if Friul tracks weren't tedious enough...check out these buggers! Five pieces per 2 links. This will be mind numbing.

Thanks M1!  The good news is that chasing around a busy 18 month old (she's adopted so she's older than an infant) gives me a great excuse to sit and relax at the workbench  Cool

I know how you feel with the Fruil tracks, I went through the same ordeal on my JT.

Back to work after 6 months on other hobbies and projects.  (Maybe I was just avoiding the PE and zimmerit application!).  Got the tail end pretty much wrapped up.

Congratulations on the new addition to the family.

Those Friul links may cross your eyes but, they are going to look exquisite in the end.  You won't be sorry you went that route.  I'll be looking forward to this beasties progress.

Cheers

So - ummmm....it took me 2 years to find my work bench again.  My 7 year old boy is showing interest in building so I figure I might as well dig out a build while I help him.  Do I get some sort of procrastinator award or something?  :-)

Zimmerit done - just have to complete the rest of the tools on the sides and front and it's ready for paint.
