BTR-152 looks similar in layout to the US M3 halftrack series but with a pair of wheels instead of tracks. Could that be it? I know Skif makes several variants of the BTR-152.

Are these what you are looking for?

The first one is the BTR 150K that is open-topped, the second is the refined BTR 152 W with a closed top and hatches.

Both kits are 1/72 scale and offered by a company called Omega-K. Very easy builds, kind of basic, but they build into nice vehicles.

If you are looking for it in 1/35 scale, you'll need to consult one of the Big Scale Modelers.

Well, I have about 390 AFV's and artillery pieces, so it might be awhile before it does! :-)

Ask me what else I have, and I'll see if I have it. ;-)

Naa, stupid me, it's a modern AFV, but after looking around, it might be an 8-wheeler, for some reason a 6x6 sticks in my mind, but thanks for the very interesting links for the 152.

So, with that in mind, what about modern wheeled AFVs from them?

Cheers!

The eight-wheeled one without a turret is the BTR-50, I believe. They made them wheeled and tracked if I remember correctly. I'll have to look it up to be sure. And right now, that's where my collection ends, since I don't have a BTR 50---yet! :-)

BTR-50 is tracked, based on the same chassis as the amphibious tank PT-76. Claymore's correct. The BTR-60/70/80 series is the 8x8 armored car the former Soviet Union used. The BTR-60 is availaable as a resin kit by Verlinden and the BTR-70 and BTR-80 are available from DML. Zvezda also recently released one of the old DML kits (or maybe both?).

Okay, cool! Thanks for that info, I always got them confused. Once I get a BTR 50, that'll change!

IIRC, Panzershop also makes a resin BTR-60. Unfortunately, the only large scale
BTR-50 that I have been able to find is made by Glencoe. It needs a lot of help to improve the detail and accuracy. I have one that I have been working on for a few years.
