Waving Andy,

I didn't get any of those fancy winterketten tracks with mine; should look awesome.

Look forward to the results.

This is a kit i started a few months ago and then i stopped due to other commitments . Now i have taken this build back in hand

I started by trimming up all the steel type wheels,no rubber to paint on these(yes). Just rubbed down the connection points and they are ready to go.

With these put on the chassis it is time to move onto the tracks. Now  this kit is not short of tracks  having four sets included in the kit. Two sets are single piece links ,early and late and two are rubber band type again early and late

The single link type are a nice casting but have really pronounced ejector pin marks making them hard work to get a nice set. The rubber band are excellent quality and are just as crisp in detail as the single link type, but without any injector pin marks. So the rubber band type would normally be the type to go with in this kit but as i want the extra wide winter tracks (not included in the kit) im not going to use these either. Ive gone for  Dragons winter tracks because i have them in the stash. One problem with these, yep you guessed it , injector pin marks and a lot of them. (sh*t). Three evenings later and i have rubbed them out as best i could without banging my head against the wall.

I assembled them in stages and worked around the sprockets and they met up with not to much of a problen. I worked in a sag in them while they were still plyable.

Now its time to work on the upper hull body part. This is a nicely cast piece with no problems and has some nice torch cutting marks where the front plate meets the top plates. I put some cast pitting marks in the front plate with the dremmel multy and fine bur .I set it at a very low speed and let it bounce of the surface with no presure. Keep the marks in a random pattern and dont over do it or it will end up looking like concrete.

Next up im onto the tools. these are nicely done and even have clamps withgood detail although they are a bit small i have decided to go ahead with them and leave them on.

With the grab handles on and the track connectors put on Thats it for now. I will be back on her tommorrow. Its nice to be able to get back on here with a build .         Man ive missed you lotBeerYes
