Robert's dead on. Tamiya's 251 Ausf D is very good.

Any of Tamiya's recent halftracks are nice. The Famo looks great if you can afford it! I have the SdKfz 251 D 'Stuka zu fuss" unbuilt but it looks good although I have heard that the front wheels are a little undersized. The same basic kit has been used to produce the 75mm howitzer armed 251/9 and the 251/1 personnel carrier's as well.

The older Tamiya SdKfz 251C has rubber tracks without inside detail but is cheaper due to age, but if a C is what you want, go for the new/upcoming DML (Dragon) SdKfz 251 C.

AFV club has produced some Sdkfz 7/11 variants. the 7 has a major fit problem between cabin and rear, but apparently easily fixed. These have had some good reviews.

Try using 'Google advanced search' for kit reviews. Type in the vehicle name in the first box, then in the exact word box type 'review', then '1/35th' in the additional word box.

Hope you find what you want.

DML also has an extensive halftrack line. Tamiya has several out, but some are older kits that have been updated. Good kits though. They also have the FAMO out and AFV Club has a new halftrack out as well.

As far as a T-55 goes, nothing can touch the new Tamiya T-55.

Dragon is coming out with a new 251/C. Warning: It does come with indy tracks. I'm not a big fan of vinyl tracks on vehicles that require sag.

tamiya's 251/1 is always good and easy, a bit undetailed, but fun all the same, if you do it right, you can adjust the road wheels, and the steering wheels
