Da Vinci's Armored Car & Da Vinci's Catapult
Posted by Model Maniac on Friday, April 15, 2011 7:47 AM

These are my own work (except  for the figure), the first ones in so many years. These kits are operable. No battery is needed, No glue or paint required. They're the easiest kits I've ever built.

These are Academy's products released in 2010.

WOW, pretty cool, Phaisal--it's good to see that you're building again. A lot of people here don't know that you actually used to build and paint some very nice models. You should post some of your older work!

Nice job on these unusual subjects!

I like it!  I am surprised that the cannons are not even hollow.  I would drill holes to make them look better.  Why am I have the feeling that wBill may have 50 of this kits? Wink

Pretty cool subject. I have always been fascinated by the work of Da Vinci. I watched a show were they recreated the tank. That catapult would have sucked to prepare for firing. I like them good job and thanks for sharing.

Very nice builds!

Thanks for posting the photos as I've been considering buying the armored car kit.

Is the "Manny" figure the same scale or just meant to show kit size?

Hey MM, that's some cool stuff!

I have to wonder though if considering how old Manny is that the figure is meant to be him posing with his first tank command.

Thanks so much guys for your kind comments! I feel so encouraged that today I began and finished another build.

Da Vinci's Armored Car's interior consists of 16 guns on a round ring, a spring box and mechanism to move the 4 wheels. Both kits have no indication of scale. The figure is not Manny, it's Rommy rather. It is used to show how big these kits are. I guess the armored car is 1:48 and the catapult 1:35

Back to my new build, first I eyed U-Boat type VIIB 1:350 because I have many of them (2 AFV 's and 3 Hobby Boss's) but I realized that it's difficult to cut and work with its PE parts, so I chose to build this one instead.:

It took me 6 hours to finish, you can see it in "Science Fiction" Forum. Thanks again for your kind support!

PS. See a big drop of water in the middle? That's my sweat!
