Terry, sorry I missed this one but real glad I found it now.  Love it, love it, love it.

Andy, Disaster Steve, Bish, Bill and Tony thanks for the great replies, I myself am amazed that I brought this one so far without loosing interest. From the start I stated that the tractor was just a beautiful kit to work on and I stand by that, the gun now that it's there is just fiddly and hard to hold because of the amount of delicate protrusions small parts etc. 

So here's the plan, 

1. Finish the tractor, wipers and sun shield on wind screen.

2. A small amount of chipping on parts of thte gun that will have crew standing on them.

3. The hand wheels on the gun will need to have metallic finishes from use bay the crew as those guns were manufactured around the 1938/9 era and my one is meant to be one of the ones seen in footage from Berlin. When the base is made I will decide if ground work will be done, my plans would be Berlin  so that could be a cobbled street or a concrete street. The addition of rubble will also be decided then.

4. It's with the ideas in the above paragraph that I feel that the final weathering no matter how subtle should all be done in one long bench sitting to bring the effect together.

Nice work on this combo project Terry! When you get around to putting it on a base let us know just so we can all drool over it again.

Another piece of Terry Burke art hits the forum squarely in the head !....I love it man... it's Russian,it's weathering is impeccable and the gun is one of the most intimidating I could imagine...

Hi, guys thanks for all the responses, just brilliant. Well I'm calling on this one for the  moment, I can only go so far because of the fragility of the gun and I have decided to wait until a base i made to finish this one off. All I really need to do is add a few final pieces and tidy up the weathering and bring it all together.

Well on with the pic's....

I think people prefer pics to a page of typing...

I need to get in with the pastels and pigments, plus a small amount of highlighting on the tracks etc. So far I have really just carried out a couple of washes and oversprayed with a very dilute mix of lifecolour dust.

Nice to see this one's still pulling along Terry! Personally I think it looks better without the canvas tarp arrangement on the rear of the tractor...but your idea of rolling it back sounds neat as well, will add a touch of character to it and make it a more individual build if you go that route.

Wow I can't believe it's been so long ssince I got an update in, well I've been pretty busy and I can guess that I'm on the final run .

Well on with the pics.

The tractor is still in subasssemblies at this stae but has since been assembled into one unit.

The metal effect on the tractors tracks I still have to weather them.

Some weathering in the flat bed, I am going with the assumption that mucky boots will leave all kinds of crap that will eventually wash around the flatbed.

The tractor assembled, the tarp has been cut in twqo, I intend to use milliput to create an effect where the tarp has been folded back half way........not 100% sure if I want to go down that road yet.

That rifling sure looks the part, looking forward to seeing this one hitched up to the tractor as a pair.

Guess thats why AA are getting ride of them now. Those Hobby boss kits do look nice, but not on my radar at the moment. Will be nice to see what you do with those kits if you do decide to build them.

I thought I'd get one kit from the two but no, missing bits filthy fittings horrible tracks, the turrets are obviously Tamiya copies and filthy, it would cost more to fix than they are worth 24 Carat Crap. the Hobby Boss kits are a fraction of the price, with beautiful turrets.

Got, i know the sort of kits you mean. I was looking at some of their Panther AA turrets, sopposed to do them as a kit with tamiya Pantehr hul.. But haven't seen them on their for ages.

With an Italeri Elefant, plastic card and a huge pair of you know whats..............oh don't forget nearly £100 sterling each as well. If you check the AA site look for them they are....... just look its funny.

Right fun Bish it's fun, a friend of mine dropped off the two accurate armour porsche tigers the hinter and the vorne, I can imagine those being fun alright. filthyest kits I've ever seen.
