That’s a fine build. I’ve seen plenty of real High Mobility Multipurpose Wheeled Vehicles (HMMWV or “Humvee”), but this makes me think of those CarMax ads — those TV ads where the customer didn’t buy from CarMax so his car is minus doors or roof. What scale?

Occasional factual, grammatical, or spelling variations are inherent to this thesis and should not be considered as defects, as they enhance the individuality and character of this document.

Yes I like it a lot, especailly the war weary mix and match parts such as the hood, brush guard and rear bumper. Which 1/35 kit is this? The Commo Sgt in me want a better look at your radio set up Wink

Very nice there Guney, perhaps a little over-chipped for my total satisfaction but I must admit that there's a soft spot in my BDU's for the old straight M998.

However; one must wonder if the replacement front end is due to the fact that the driver had failed (and apparently still fails to do so) to keep the windshield clean! Heck, at least I could almost see out of mine...

With all the brass that I hauled around, I had too!

Good job on yours and thanks for posting.

Thanks,
Kevin Keefe

Guney - nice, I like it.....like Kevin I am old fashioned and not ito heavy chipping but it is done well.  I like the multi color replacement part paint.....seems to becoming a fad but it is nice.

Now Kevin..... you making me feel old with that picture.

Sorry Guney....needed to bust my brothers brass!!

Nice work

FYI, the AFV Club M998 is the Academy kit with some AFV Club resin tossed in. Fairly decent kit when it came out.

BDUs? Old school; haven't seen a soldier in a set in half a decade.

At least they canned the beret and we went back to soft caps once again. Of course, the decision wasn't made until after I started terminal leave.

I think that I have every kit of the HMMWV ever produced with all the AM to go along with it. At one time I became dilusional and had the idea of building one of my vehicles. I quess that I must be saving all that for a rainy day or for someone that wants to buy it all... whatever comes first.

I always liked my M998 HQ4 from my days with the 187th Inf. The boys in the MP had it all tricked out... or in... because of all that brass movement mentioned previously. They were the best MP I ever knew and it sure was nice having HQ4 as the MP Chief's 'hobby'.

Ya, at one time, I was the was 'the balls' ... and somehow, I always got away with this...

Thanks Rob... what a swell guy... now I feel older than Mike - Redleg12! Wink I know that it's too late but, I am trying to break away from the 'old school' BDU...

I apologize to Guney for side tracking your thread. I'll clam up.

Thanks,

You have to remember, I just retired 8 days ago with one month shy of 28 years of military service. My first uniform was the pickle suit, my first tank was an M48A5. I lived the old school days too.
