I love Italeri even if they aren't up to par with some of the newer kits on the market. 

Neat subject. Too bad you're going with Poland markings otherwise you could join our Blitz in the West GB.

I'll second the thumbs-up to Italeri with the caveat that they have the WORST rubber-band tracks in the industry.

I'll second that, and we don't see that many Italeri armour kits full stop. Now we have this and a Tiger. Luckly tracks is one thing you don't have to worry about.

I'm glad someones excited about it.  The fit has been troublesome due to minor flash.  After assembling 240 links of track for my Neubau pin for pin I'm glad to be working on a armored car for a change.  More updates soon!

Its nice to see something different, both the type of kit and the brand. I don't think there kits are the easiet, but isn't that part of the fun.

Always have a soft spot for the early war gear and this one's no exception. Look forward to seeing the progress!

Have a little more progress made, assembled the wheels and had them dry fit.  I didn't want to mess around with the fender inaccuracy, I don't have the tools or resources to fix it, or even the know-how, I'll just go with what I got.  Next step is to add the details on the chassis.

I like a good 'ol out of box build. It's a relaxing break between the intensive scratch builds and kitmash projects.

Looking really good. There looks like some nice detail on this kit. What is the issue with the fenders?

The length of the fenders are apparently too short and the angle of the rear fender isn't steep enough. Here she is with the tools and other accessories.  Next some work on the turret but it's been a long day, I should get some more work done over the holidays.

that is looking nice. And i must agree with Doog, there look to be some nice detail in that kit. Looks to need a little bit of cleaning around that hatch on the turret, but nothing to major.

It's not just the turret that needed cleaning, the entire kit is like that, it's a nicely detailed kit but just a little dirty and hard fits that have made assembly more difficult.  I'm hoping the paint will hide most of my errors.

Here is the finished turret minus the armaments and the dry fit of the radio antenna.  Now I'm ready from priming.

The "bedframe" antenna designs always serve as a reminder of the limitations of the technology of the period...for a lightly armed recon vehicle it definitely doesn't do much for the "low profile" aspect for sure!

All primed with Krylon Primer Red, there are some seams that need filling and she'll be ready for a Panzer Schwarzgrau.

Well it's been a long time since posting.  I've hit a dry spell where I really didn't want to touch my projects.  I'd turn on the light on my bench and just look at it and end up turning around to my computer and gaming on that instead.  I think I am getting the modelling itch back, and finally got around to getting my pictures uploaded of my progress.  I filled the gaps on the nose and rear plate with CA glue and sanded them down.  It took a two coats of panzer schwartzgrau from MM to hide the primer coat, lots of nooks.  I then moved on to painting the tools, lights with MM and the wheel cover with Humbrol Khaki.  It was brought to my attention that those covers tended to fade drastically so I dry brushed some sand to it.  During the weathering process I'll try to use some pigments to blend it in and give it a more faded look.  Instead of the Poland Invasion cross decal on the front grill, I decided it'd be easier just to hand paint, freehand.  Lastly I sealed it up in a future/alcohol mix, 3:1 ratio I believe, and applied the decals.  Next will be an oil wash, so stay tuned!

Nice work David, particularly on the front cross! I hear you about losing the motivation to build...happens to us all from time to time.

On a side note (not too late if you still want to address), the accurate scheme for Polish campaign vehicles was 2/3 Panzer Gray and 1/3 Dark Brown in a disruptive pattern and not overall panzer gray. The monotone gray scheme wasn't ordered until July 1940 but the model manufacturers don't always get that right in their finishing guides.

So here is the brown added.  Not too sure if it is the correct pattern, I don't have to many pictures to go off from so I just whipped it up rather fast.

Nice work David on the pattern! There wasn't a uniform pattern so no worries there...just the 1/3 to 2/3 ratio was all that was called for.

  Camo looks real good!  Is it only available from Italeri?  I want to build one someday... love those weird looking recon vehicles like this.

Thanks guys.  Yes, Italeri is the only company that offers this kit that I know of.  They have a second one with a resin interior so you can open the hatches for double the price I believe.

So I feel like I rushed the weathering with the pigments so I could get it finished to show at my club meeting.  They said it looks fine, so I guess I'll go with that however next time I'll just take my time with it.  This was a fun build, very little issues with the fit, I had fun with it.

Rushed?  It looks GREAT!  You did a good job weathering as it looks spot on... heavier at the bottom or around the wheels.   Thank you for sharing... I will not hesitate to buy the kit if I see it at future model shows.
