Ya'll ever make "jungle juice" ?

I'm glad some one could decipher all the different shades of OD. After jungle juice, we Marines could only say, "it's green".

Yes we did... aside from the required bottle of Everclear, not two batches were ever the same...Tongue Tied and we learned tequila was not a good ingrediant...Ick!

I guess I must have just been OCD about it, but from once I arrived in a line unit, I always paid attention about the paint schemes and colors on our vehicles. I suppose joining IPMS at a young age had something to do with that...Whistling But as said above, wheen new camo schemes came into service, it did not initiate repaint at the unit level. In 1987 we had vehicles in two different MERDC schemes, overall 34079, NATO tri color, and a non MERDC/NATO four color scheme. "Newly" issued vehicles appeared in the latter two schemes, while the older stuff was plain green or MERDC.

F is for FIRE, That burns down the whole town!

U is for URANIUM... BOMBS!

N is for NO SURVIVORS...

  • 1 bottle dry red wine
  • 2 cups orange juice

That would be an expensive drink these days if the alcohol were subject to local taxes andcouldn't be obtained in the PX......

Hans von Hammer wrote the following post on Tuesday, December 27, 2011

I personally painted "my" jeep, as I was assigned as the BC's driver at that time (since I was sitting in an over-strength slot, waiting on a projected loss, meaning that I was waiting for a howitzer of my own, which I'd get as soon as one of the other gun chiefs left the battery)...

I was given a copy of the 3-three color NATO camo-pattern, some chalk (to make the "paint-by-numbers" pattern),  and a NATO camo paint-kit to change my 1/4-ton from the MERDC-camo...  Consisted of about 18 rattle cans of paint and a spray-gun thingie (that was clogged hopelessly and forever in about 15 minutes) to screw onto the top f the rattle cans..

Hans:

I just retrieved an old AFV magazine Vol 5 Number 7 ( 1976 ) that has a color pattern ( total 4 colors -including black )  for the M60A2 turret and M60 hull in a paint by letter drawing complete with Dark Green 34102 paint chip and formula for matching the color using Floquil paint.

...........looks like a real pain to apply on a model..................
