Shellback, tigerman and Manny - I will keep the dense/smaller thought in mind.

wbill - Thanks for chiming in. One of my motivational quotes on my bench actually the top one is from you a couple of years ago and it is soooooo true. "The devil is in the details". This will truly test me.

doog - Thanks for checking in and I appreciate your thoughts. MEGA thanks for checking your spares. I'll await your PM if they are found.

Jon - My German heritage and attention to detail sucked me in on this one.

After practicing on a sheet of styrene to try and get the effect in the photos I have decided that it is going to be to tedious and impossible. I love this is hobby but not to the point on insanity.

So I have opted to create my own scheme.

Following is Heintz's Panzerwerfer after he saw Schultz's and decided he wanted to have his own scheme.

I should have this done by Saturday. Then I can start the wash / filter effects using MIG and tie it all together.

That still looks cool. Kind of an ambush scheme with only the spots.

Definitely don't want to see an insanity defense in your near future...I agree with Eric, the "reverse ambush" pattern is neat and will set this one apart for sure. Yes

I think this looks just fine if you're going to continue the pattern as it is?

I've always taken the point of view that we can't know ALL the vehicles that were ever used in combat, and unless we had photographic evidence of EVERY one of them, there's always room for a personal interpretation for a camouflage scheme. I mean, who can really tell you with any authority "Oh no; that would NEVER have been painted like that!" ? ? (within reason, of course!)

I think it's going to be killer!

Sounds like a good strategy...when you run into resistance, outflank it and drive on!!!  At least that's what worked on the Eastern front...just sayin'...

With 4 HEAVY armor hitters I move on. My better half as promised me uninterrupted bench time tonight. I think it was the Valentine Dinner, Roses, Card, and Cabernet last night.

Thanks Manny! Toast

doog - AMEN!!!!!!!!!!!!! to your statement.          "I've always taken the point of view that we can't know ALL the vehicles that were ever used in combat, and unless we had photographic evidence of EVERY one of them, there's always room for a personal interpretation for a camouflage scheme.  This goes on my wall of "quotes".

Good Evening,

It has been awhile since I have updated my progress on this. Bench time has been at a Premium. Not to mention that I gave 5 other builds going.

I still have some more camo work to do, decals, weathering and interior work. Anyways here is where it stands.

Hopefully I will have more time these next couple of weeks to reach completion.

The camo is comming along nicely . This type of camo is difficult to pull off correctly . Too much or too little is a hard choice to make . Some good weathering will really inhance the effects . Yes

That's coming along real nicely. Once you get some washes on her, it will turn out even better.

I like where this one is headed! Sounds like you've got a full bench...I follow the iron rule of "1 build at a time" myself...no way I could keep track of 6 projects at once. Propeller

Shellback - I fully agree with the "too much or too little. I have looked at it so many times in the last 30 + hours I go from enough to maybe a little more.

Bocks - I will work on the pic. I am blessed that I have a room that is just for my hobby.

I tried the one build at a time but found myself rushing things or board waiting. Having different projects allows me to set something aside to dry, set up or maybe just think about what I did and or focus on something else.

On the bench:

Italeri Panzerwerfer 42

1/35 Dragon Sd.Kfz.164 Bergepanzer

1/35 Zvezda M3 Armoured Scout Car

1/25 AMT Vantasy Van

1/24 1970 Ford BOSS Mustang

1/48 Bandai's 8-Ton SdKfz 7

1/48 Gaso.Line Resin Tank trailer Sd.Ah.115

That is "SO" cool. One of the most unique camo jobs I have seen in a while.

After seeing 4x4's ninely done Panzerwefer I decided to pull this one out and finish it.

The reasons I put it to the side are many but primarly I have been dwelling on how much weathering, maybe a dio, etc. Here is where I left a few months ago:

More to follow.

A small update and question.

I have started the wash process and made a base. I am calling this "Spring Break". I am waiting on this Mini art set to accessorize:

I am looking for figures to pose with this. Since I am FAR from understanding what German soldiers would be associated with this PanZerwefer I am hoping someone here can point me in the right direction.

I would like to be able to pose them Washing, Cleaning, writing home etc.

Again, thank you for the kind words and feel free to give your input.

Most images of this vehicle that i have seen with its crew seem to be in winter, with the crews in winter clothing. But i did find this image showing a crew in what appears to be standard Army uniforms.

I am not sure, but i imagine these vehicles were part of the artillery. Photos of crews of other long range artillery pieces seem to show them in the standard uniform rather than the uniforms for tanks or assault guns.

So far as I'm aware, all of the Nebelwerfer/Panzerwerfer crews were part of the artillery units. I like where you're headed with the dio idea and that set from Miniart looks like it ought to provide some nice eye-candy.

Thanks Bish for the photo. It also reminded me that I must paint the inside of the tubes.

Bill, always great to have your input and I think it will have "pop". I found some muiscal intsruments from

That Mini art set does look rather nice. I bought one of their Dio sets a couple of months ago and i really like the look of that. They seem to have brought some great stuff to the Dio table often only found before in expensive resin.
