Hi Bill,Thank you for stopping by, Yes I am finally approaching the finnishing line
Hi Karl,I have made myself that promise Honestly I dont worry to much about the RC's. If it looks OK it is OK.Then again I do think it was wort cutting down the side skirts and lowering the ride.I never worried about the rest of the list though
Hi CodyJ,Yes, it was a PIA but most of the trouble I think I caused myself when I got the skirts on before the tracks.Big misstake, should have followed the instructions there. Glad you think they look OK
Thank you all for taking your time and for your kind comments and support, much appreciated!
Very Best RegardsJohan
Wow that's looking great! I can imagine the pain involved in those tracks... They look great though, well done getting them on and looking so good!

Sorry I missed this thread when it started, but it looks awesome with what you've got there. I think it's going to turn out great, and it will lok every bit the awesome MBT it is. Rivet counters be darned...
Your T-90 looks like it's getting close to the finish line Johan! Looking good.
BP Models
Hi again,
The link and length tracks where a pain to get in place.Since the height of the suspension is lowered I had to take out 2 links on each side and bend them in place. I hope it is not noticeable. There is some adjustment possible in both the idler wheel and the drive wheel and that helped.
Next up is finishing of the clear parts and periscopes, the AA and some other detail before the clear cote goes on followed by stencils, chipping and washes.
Thank you for stopping by, all comments are welcome.
Best Regards
Johan
Hi Wayne, thanks for the tip on the washes!I will give it a go in that sequence.
I so much wanted to complete this in 2014, but at 1800 yesterday I had to give up,the New Years party was calling for attention ;)
The tracks are painted X-10 Gun Metal, will tone the shine down with a Valejo Wash.Covers better then Oil washes. I used XF-85 Rubber black for the road wheels, hand paints very well.Green is XF-5, Dark Yellow XF-60 and Nato Black XF-69.Hoping to give the road wheels and tracks a go tomorrow.
Happy New Year everyone and best wishes for 2015 :)
Very Best Regards
the doog What kind of primer are you using, Johan? It looks very dark. Those colors look good. As long as they're close, who's really an "expert"? Your model will look fine with those. :)

JOHAN. looking good.i use ACE HARDWARE NOW gray for all my armor priming. inexpensive, big can. as for the colors you can walk sown a russian tank park row and have half a dozen different shades of green. try different colors for washes too. i did a camo ww1 tank and washed it with yellow then green, then gray, than burnt umber and a black pine wash on details.. easier to darken a light base coat than the other way around.
Никто не Забыт (No one is Forgotten)Ничто не Забыто (Nothing is Forgotten)
The green is on, decided to go with Tamiya XF-5 and expect this to darken significantly under a few washes.
Next step is road-wheels and tracks, then on with the DY and black elements of the camouflage.
Comments, criticism and suggestions are more then welcome, thank You for stopping by!
Merry Christmas and all the best for 2015!

Hi Karl,
Thanks for commenting! I guess you are right - have seen so many shades of this camo over the last 18 month - just need a push in the right direction I guess :)
This is my last batch of Citadel Chaos Black.
It covers well and dries with an almost gloss sheen - helps me notice the sink mark on the reactive armor - should have seen that one before :(
I will start using the Vallejo range of primers after this one.
The Primer is on, I am not sure that this is necessary but the plastic feels very greasy.
Have already washed it in soap and windows cleaner but since I am worried to rip of the base layer with the masks later I decided to give it that extra day.
Still trying to decide on what colors to use.
Here is a sample:
This is XF-5 Green, XF59 Dessert Yellow, XF-49 Khaki and XF-60 Dark Yellow.
Kreegah Tarzan bundolo,..
Just noticed that I managed to get the toolboxes for the Shtora Devices or rather the subassemblies with the reactive armor and the boxes switched and mounted on the wrong sides
Some additional surgery (thank you Exacto) required - fixed now
The 2 weeks have passed...
Finally getting some momentum,..
Since I have adjusted the angle of the wheel arms the shock abosrbers need to be adjust as well.
I split the shock absorber arms and glued them back in place.
Had to push out the side walls when gluing the tube to the top.
Here is a side view, tried to prime the periscopes before moving on to the actual paintin step:
Will try to get some primer on tomorrow... Should be working on my travel expenses though, almost a year behind :)
Thanks you for your kind comments guys Trying to complete this one over the next 2 weeks now...
Great idea and handling of the clear parts

Off to a good start Johan!
So...
here we go again, the Star T-90.
Won't tuch the Trump or Meng until this one is done!
There are a lot of clear parts included in the kit.
Trying to get them more visible by painting the inside in Tamiya Clear and supporting this with Alu Foil from behind.
The Infra disturbing light looks OK but the Range Finder is soso...
Hi garzonh,
I am so sorry m8 :)

I recently calculated that my stash, given my curent build rate, will last untill I am +130.
So if I am still posting in here November 2090 you will know that I am running low :)
Thanks you for stopping by and taking interest, here is a link with excellent reference pictures:

Why?, why?, why do you torture me like this?...
So many models... Im about to start a Bradley or M113A2 or A3...also wanted to build a P47D and now this... this tank is beatiful. Liked it a lot with the black and grey camouflage.
Hmmm...
So, far your building looks good, can't wait to see it finished.
My thinking was that correcting the stance would allow for a correction of the height of the side skirts.
I hope I can manage with a correction of the forward angles of those.
In my view those are the most visual problem areas of an otherwise most enjoyable kit.
I have dropped corrections of the turret shins, the fuel tanks, the turret rim and the engine deck.
The knife is dull already although the plastic is soft.Thank you for commenting!
JohanT Hi Bill, Thank you for stopping by! Looking at the pictures I have posted I need to get another 2mm out of the side skirts, not sure if that is doable.

No, what you see is what you get.
Hoping for some prime time in the week-end.
Nice progress on this one Johan, looking good!
the weather has been so nice over the last days I just coudl not resist.
But here is an update on the fix:
This is the a view of the front fenders, the kit left side is modified to match the lower side skirt.
Hi Schatten Spartan & Gamera - thanks for stopping by and taking interest I am hoping to get some progress work posted this weekend, still worried that the shavings will melt - anyway - we will know by Sunday Sorry about the bad link, the second one is unfortunaely corrupt, please check out this link by disur instead:http://panzer35.ru/forum/45-8703-4Very Best RegardsJohan
Yeah, nice looking work! Clever idea on how to fix the too high stance issue.
I too am getting an error message when clicking on your last two photos.

I can't view the last 2 pics...
Your T-90 is looking nice so far, Johan!
I'll watch this with interest, as I have that kit in my stash as well and it looks like you found a relatively easy techniqe for fixing the heigth issue!
Hi,
Next issue is the turret to hull assembly:
There is a rail outside the outer perimeter of the turret that Zvezda don't present.
