I'd be soooooooo tempted to throw in a M-18 Hellcat as the only non-German entry but I don't have one in the stash. Huh?

If you decide to go though with the Big Kitty GB Eric I do have a Royal Tiger that I've been itching to start on.....

Cliff, the King Tiger would be the more appropriate choice in IMO. Think BIG cat.

I think it will look a little like this:

  • Tiger I Early, Mid, Late
  • King Tiger Porsche or Henschel
  • Sturmtiger
  • Jagdtiger
  • Panther D, A, G Early/Late, F, II, Ersatz
  • Jagdpanther
  • Bergepanther, Bergetiger
  • Leopard (modern)

Others?

Then you might want to opt for the Porsche KT with pre-molded zimmerit.

Right, you said big cat not fast cat...Big Smile

Funny my Royal Tiger is the Porsche version too, the older Dragon kit sans zimmerit. Figured I'd just do it myself with Squadron putty and a razor saw. I guess I could buy the pre-done stuff but I think making my own zimmert is kinda fun.

Gamera the kit i have with the Porsch turret is the Tamiya K.T. Its also sans zim . I picked up some Apoxie sculpt and the Tamiya zim tool , was thinking of trying my hand at doing the zim at one time . Not sure if i still want to . Some of the after market zim pannels look pretty good . Yes

Dragon makes the pre-molded zimmerit kit. Don't forget you'll need engine screens for the Tamiya kit as well.

Kit #6302 http://www.amazon.com/6302-Tiger-Porsche-Turret-Zimmerit/dp/B000ZV9AFU. (This is an example, not the place to buy it)

I've used Cavalier twice so far and they are pretty sweet. Atak might be a bit better from some of the detail I've seen, but alas, they will push $30 and up in most cases, even ebay.

$30 ...Hmm..........thats approaching 75 % of the cost of a new kit . I'm going to find the kit with Zim on and look at the reviews Eric .

This is the DML w / Henschel turret .Looks really nice Yes

Hmmmm, I did look at this Cavalier set, much as I like do-it-yourself zimmerit this probably would be neater...

Thanks Eric.

I picked up the Tiger I zimmerit for the Dragon kit from Cavalier. It's nice looking and it was about the same price you have there Cliff for the KT. I also bought it from Spruebrothers.

Thanks guys!!!

I went ahead and ordered the set from Sprue Brothers. Thought I'd give the stuff a try and they have the Dragon IJA Ka-Mi on sale for over 50% off plus our club has it's show this summer and figured I'd grab something on sale to contribute to the raffle.

Nice score Cliff. Are you planning on building that Ka-Mi anytime soon?

Not sure Eric, I picked the special edition with the pontoons early this year and wanted one of the regular ones as well. I've got a pile of FineMolds Japanese armour as well that I really should do first.
