Hobby Boss Merkava 4
Posted by MZ3three on Friday, June 7, 2013 12:01 PM

Just want to get some thoughts from people.

I tried to fix as much as I could, but there are a couple details I missed. I read about them after I had started painting and really didn't want to go back to fix them. Paint is Tamiya Khaki xf-49 and medium grey xf-20 mixed 50/50. Weathering is a combo of oil paints and pigments. Friul tracks weathered in Blacken It. I had to steal parts from a second Hobby Boss Merkava 4 in my stash to finish this one. Chain, wheels, a couple of PE parts.

I "fixed" the position of the wheel stations. I added a lot of little details that where missing. Again, I did miss some things, this build took me way to long and at some point I just wanted to finish it.

Sharp, very sharp!  Nice muted weathering that is perfect for a desert born vehicle.

I'm not familiar with the details of a Merkava, but the build looks great from here.Nice weathering, just enough, and the very tedious ball and chains look great.

Very nice! Makes me feel I should take up 1/35 scale armour instead of 1/72!
