Off to a good start.  Like you said, the ammo bins are really all that needs to be scratch-built.  They are not that hard to do.  Good luck with it.

Hello Tony!

I'll gladly stay and take a look at what you're trying to do here. I thought about packing the M115 guts on the M110 chassis to do a A-nothing version of it - just a thought, wonder if it's doable. Anyhow, good luck with your project and have a nice day

COOL BEANS!!! (maybe the coolest beans, EVER?!) Bow Down

Nice to see you take that sentiment and do a real work of innovation and pluck here, Tony. SmileYes This will be a special build, no doubt! I love these monster artillery pieces--I just may do the Renwall kit-thing next, who knows?

They must have used some type of small lift /crane in order to move those rounds. They would have used bagged powder for them, wouldn't they?

Guys I was just looking at some M-43 pictures, I think Gino took this one, and spotted something that just might be the answer.

Can you see those vertical post or pipes near each corner of the fighting compartment? I bet those are the base mounts for a small lift crane.

What do you think?

I did take that pic at Ft Hood. Good catch on the poles for lift cranes.  I missed those when I built mine.  I'll have to add them now. Super Angry

Those bins are looking fine, Tony!

DIdn't I see someone coming out with one of these soon? Maybe I'm wrong, but I seem to remember some company had another one of the motorized howitzers in their "to be announced" line up on Perth's site? I"ll have to go look for it.

Hi Again

You might have noticed my example does not have a bow travel lock for the barrel but it does have a rear lock that isn't supplied with the kit. With the aid of my spares box and some Evergreen stock I put together a reasonable facsimile.

I made the attaching points on either side of the vertical gear as well.

Thanks for looking in
