M42A1 "Duster" Early Type

AFV Club's M42A1 "Duster" Early Type - by "Art Instructor":

(I know the tracks are backward or up-side-down, but it's hard to correct without breaking the tracks or even worse the road wheel axles. So I leave them as if and I've told AI to be careful with his future build.)

Awesome interior!!

Great cammo, weathered perfectly with some dust.

On the tracks, we all had made this mistake. Same happened to me on the first model and learned from it. It will never happen to me again, surely you will do the same.

You can just say it's in a museum!--you sometimes see this mistake in museums!

Other than that, it's a really nice model!

I would take the 5 minutes it will take to fix the tracks and have them on properly.  We know you don't really care about accuracy or quality though, so you will just leave it as is.

Sorry for a little late reply. My recent hobby (sound page) has become a serious one and it takes most of my time.

Model Maniac, congratulations on this and also other new items in your colection! I like the MERDC camo a lot, it looks really nice. Just a few minor things I would like to point out for other people building this excellent kit:

- behind the left ring sight you have the reflex sight installed. This is incorrect. You either have your gun in manual mode, with cranks installed and speed rings up, or in power mode - then you don't have the cranks or the speed rings, but you have the reflex sight in place and also the drive controller (the large box in front of the left turret seat) would be up.

- in front of the right seat in the turret there's a first aid kit holder on the wall. As per kit instructions this holder is mounted too low and it doesn't leave enough place for the traverse crank, so it should be mounted about three milimeters higher.

Thanks for sharing, have a nice day

Paweł

You did a great job on the cammo and detailing I would worry about the tracks.

Actually, he didn't do any of the painting or building.  He pays others to build them for him and is merely a collector.

Model Maniac plainly states at the beginning of each of his posts, who the builder of the model is. In this case a fellow modeller using the handle "Art Instructor".

Because he has come on and stated so.  That's why all his posts start with the vehicle, by "Art Instructor" or one of his other hired builders.  He is simply a collector who posts his purchase and expects everyone to tell him how great they are.  He has been coming on here for a few years since this is the only site that hasn't laughed him away yet.

He does, but the average viewer who doesn't follow his shenanigans thinks he is simple Art Instructor and doesn't know he doesn't build them.

HeavyArty. OMG, Surprise I did not knew that, I did thought it was fishy being able to build that many kits in so short of time.

I agree, it is more humble to build a kit even if its all wacky, not aligned and not perfectly weathered BUT made with your own hands has more value because of the passion and effort put into it; than trying to state something you did not made,  basically a fraud.

This is a building forum and not a collectors forum. If this is true, what a shame... Confused
