Somebody was asking about Marder treads (WW 2 Productions info added)

I just noticed that WWII Productions makes links for Pz38(t). These things are hella expensive, but they are really great looking, and construction is literally a snap.

Here's a link for the Marder guy:

Enjoy.

I dunno, but I wrote them an e-mail to ask them -- expect it to take a while for me to get an answer, as they are in Australia.

I may actually pick up a pack for a Pershing I am going to build this summer. I think these things are expensive -- probably more so than the tank you are building. [:0] Part of the expense is that they are produced by a small manufacturer and then shipped from australia to retailers in the States.

I've gotta tell you though that I will spend an extra ten bucks to get a really easy track build. Building the links is like a kit all in itself -- two, actually. That's just me though.

I can't find anyone selling them either. Let us know when you find out. I've heard of them (I think Steve Zologa wrote about them in one of his books or something).

Check out PMMS. Maybe you can get them straight from Australia -- from a hobby retailer there.

Thanks, Larry. I'd really like to get my hands on a set of these for my IIIM. I don't find them listed on Mission Models, either.

Ok, guys, here are the details, e-mailed to me from WW2 Productions. By the way, the prices are OZ dollars, so for instance the Pershing set I just ordered is $40AU, or roughly $32US. Not cheap, but they look quite nice. I'll review them here when I get them.

Wow, Larry, Thanks.

Maybe if they get enough orders from we Colonials, or at least interest from us, they'll get a Stateside importer!

I have a funny feeling that the links from the US importer would just wind up costing us more. They may not be the kind of outfit that can provide items at wholesale prices. Well, I'll let you know how long it takes to get my links for the Pershing.

I wonder if these guys are Anvil resurrected? Anvil was an Oz outfit too.

M&Models in Illinois carries them.

However, WW2Productions direct is less expensive and they take credit cards.

As to their link to the old Anvil Miniatures, the founder of WW2Prod was one of the two proprietors of Anvil. James Blackwell decided not to continue, his partner moved along and now has resurrected the products under the WW2Productions name.

Thanks, again, Larry and Eric. I can see I won't be ordering any Tiger tracks, at least through M&Models, though! Wow!

Is it still cheaper directly through WWII even with the shipping from Australia?
