What color?
Posted by lizardqing on Tuesday, March 9, 2004 2:01 PM
What color would be the buisness end of a Marder round? I was thinking just doing it gunmetal whith the shell brass of coarse. Never had to paint up a round before.

According to my references German armor piercing rounds were black and high explosive rounds were yellow. Fuses if present would be aluminium or steel.

So stell instead of brass. Guess I have some painting to do since I painted them brass Blush [:I]. So just do the round end black and it'llbe good to go then.

Just to throw a spanner in here LQ, Is the Marder the one with a 75 mm Pak 40......or the russkie 76mm? Depending on where the ammo came from, I suspect it would be brass in this instance.

Just a clarification, I was refering to the projectile color when I said black or yellow. Shell casing would be brass or steel depending on where/when it was made.
