With some hub-bub over the "BergePanzer Tiger" with a couple new kits and the descriptive title of these kits, I decided to bash out my own version while away from the bench visiting my nephew for a week.

Three of the four kits that I know of in 1/35 plastic:

CMK box art sprueone

Italeri box art sprueone

Rye Field box art sprueone

The old 1981 Tamiya M48A3. Everything is from the box except the flint striker from a disposable lighter.

A fenderless tank is something I always wanted to do.

^ yup, old Tamiya tank kit.

Interesting project, its looking nice.

I am glad Dragon has come out with the ''Bergetiger''. I plan on ditching my old CMK kit and getting the new one.

I am a Norfolk man and i glory in being so

Gamera, Bish, Thanks for looking in and the compliments. Yes the Dragon kit, and I hear that it's all around the best of the four available.

I don't doubt that. I've seen that on youtoob a few times. They look bigger than the little ones we'd throw at each other as kids. The moist mud type are probably heavier too.

Before I left my nephew's house, I sprayed a primer base of Rust-Oleum Camouflage Earth Brown. I'm hooked on the series of aerosol spray paint BTW.

Finally seeing this under the home bench lighting reveals spot that need attention.

I'm trying some craft acrylics that I've never used before. I like them so far. Currently mixing the "rubber tire" color.

The cable position and tension is set and working on base color (on turret) for this rig.

I think I might move the rear stowage box onto racks and hang them over the rear deck a little more

I decided to relocate the rear stowage box. It's mounted to a couple parts from the kit's rear bustle rack and a couple fender support parts. Styrene sheet covers the bottom.

The overall green color is just the base coat before detailing and weathering.

The kit vinyl tracks were base coated flat brown. Then after that dried, masked off and sprayed hot-rod primer. The masking tape is old so it left some adhesive residue behind. I'll clean that off tonight.

I think I've dicovered the true purpose of the "BergeTiger" found in Italy. It was straight out of a Theodor Geisel story. At least this is what the "FragezeichenPatton" and the Spanish Engineer Tank is looking like. Wink

I was almost done with this project but then I saw a dumpster truck at work. Those COE units that drop off and then haul away the big steel, open top, containers that you dump construction waste materials into. It had that red and white safety alert tape around it. So, I got this big idea...

I'll peel the masking materials off tonight or tomorrow.

Hmm, it does look sorta like a Geisel designed tank. Though if you write a story about it I'm not sure what you could rhyme with "FragezeichenPatton" Wink

Looking forward to seeing what that big hunk of scrap will be once unmasked!

LOL, Good point, Gamera.

It turned out the way I wanted. A sort of candy cane Christmas theme look since It was built and on my mind through the holiday season. Smile

The rear storage box broke off during masking so it made it easier to paint it anyway.

Hello!

Well, as a classic has put it one time, it's ugly enough to be a modern art masterpiece! It's so ugly it starts lookin' good again! Congratulations on an original idea and using only kit supplied parts! Thanks for sharing and have a nice day
