Eduard Masks

do you mean masks for national insignia, etc
or for canopies?
the only ones i am familiar w/ are for wingy-thingies.

I have used the masks for the numbers, and I LOVE em. Worth every penny...

He could mean the wheel masks that I have seen. Have not tried them out though.

ive got some with the PE parts but havnt used them yet
can you re use them? things like the stars

Nick, Thanks for the posts. When you ordered from Eduard directly, what method of payment did you use? How long was the ship time?

I just painted a Sherman and used a set of small stars for doing the ringed stars on the turret, and transmission. They worked reasonably well, although lifting them from their backing paper was a bit of a chore, at least to do so without tearing up the adjacent mask.

After painting, they lifted of the model with a fairly good edge and didn't lift any underlying paint. Under a magnifier, I think the the large aerial recognition ringed star star that I cut from Tamiya masking tape, actually though did create a slightly better edge.

All in all, if you cannot effectively cut a mask, i.e. very small circles or complex shapes, and Eduard has a mask, they are worthwhile. On the other hand, with Tamiya tape, a sharp knife, protractor, and a circle cutter one and a little patience, one can make a lot of the masks that Eduard sells.

i agree with what you say: eduard are great but you can also make a lot of their masks yourself; personally i will only do that if i absolutely have to! lazy i guess!!

i took alook on their site and it says they don't ship to individual customers stateside, only to distributors (and they don't mention who they are). this is a bit crappy i must admit, but i'm sure there's loads of people your side of the pond who regularly get their stuff, so they are the ones to help you.
strangely they do list a shipping charge to the USA, so i'm not entirely sure if they do or do not ship there...again, a bit crappy but i get the impression that are trying to get better (remember, 15 years ago they were under communist rule...)
sorry if i gave the impression that their stuff is easy to come by stateside; i just assumed it was...; although i still see loads of adverts for their stuff in FSM etc etc, so it's gotta be around.
i do really like their stuff...check out their armour masks: equivalent of decal sets which for armour i find otherwise v hard to find over here.

I didn't mean to mislead you. You can find Eduard stuff over here. It's just that sometimes, the shops don't have the one I'm looking for and was just wondering what it was like to order direct. I can always order through Great Models, Mission Models, or any number of other places. But usually, you have to wait until they have some mega order ready to go in. Thanks for your response.

hmmm..i hate it when you have to do that!!
like i said, email eduard and ask them if they can now send stuff stateside to individual customers: if you don't ask, you don't get!
