It's great to see that everybody is willing to help offset the additional costs of postage. But then that's to be expected from such an awesome bunch that inhabit this forum Bow [bow] Thumbs Up [tup].
The other possibility would be for those guys outside the USA to print their own shirts. All that they'd need is the specs - material, colurs, etc and then to ensure that they get enough people together. Say ,all the guys in Europe could club together and all the guys in South Africa or Australia could club together. This could offset the cost of postage AND import duties.
Just an idea.

Definitely the more generic the better. I"m personally not into the stars&stripes w abrams or the union jack w chally. Too limited in scope. Plus the ww2 stuff just looks so much cooler.

you guys are nothing but a bunch of socialists!
the greatest good for the greatest number, eh?
i guess i can play along. Big Smile [:D]Tongue [:P]Wink [;)]
(hope you can figure out i am razzing. i would pony up an extra few $ to keep the costs moderate for all)

i would like the back to say something along the lines of:
-----------------Armor-------------------
The Dark Side of the FSM Forum
----------------{logo here}--------------
-----------------join us at----------------
---------www. finescale.com---------

Edit -
or maybe instead of 'join us' it should say 'get on track'
(the dashes are only to preserve my spacing, which the page takes out)
(and the space is so it does not make the address clickable)

the more awareness we build for the site, the bigger our knowledge base becomes,
and perhaps more people will be brought into the hobby.

i know some people are put off by the 'corporate logo' thing,
and i am in agreement there.
you won't see me wearing a 'Nike' T-shirt so i can act as a billboard for them.
but i have no problem 'advertising' for this site.

of course, i will go along w/ the majority.
just My 2 cents [2c]

As I am one of those who would benefit from everybody adding an extra couple of $$ so that everyone can get one, I can say it makes me happy and humble. It sure is a great thing to be a member of such a great forum. Blush [:I]Bow [bow] Thank you guys.

Beav-
Below your E-I-E-I-O quote you have 4 GB Badges displayed. What the one on the far left for? Is that one generic enought for our purposes? Just a thought!

What does Fine Scale Modeler think of all this? Any feedback from the publishers? Do you guys want shirts, too? Hmmm... maybe work a deal for a sweet subscription discount... nah.....just kidding

I think a liitle extra cash to ensure everyone can get the same deal is a great idea.

My preference would be towards a simple and generic idea. Not too sure about the whole Challenger/Abrams/flag idea from a personal perspective; I feel that WW2 images are a bit more universal. Sort of classical.
Would buy one anyway, mind you, just for a memento. Just my opinion.

I think it's a great idea. I like the idea of some kind of a Sherman and a Panzer of some type.My 2 cents [2c]

Great idea, Glenn. I like that. If everyone paid just a little more so the shipping would work out about the same for everyone. Thumbs Up [tup]

I would be willing to add an extra $5.00 to my order to help defray the costs of shipping shirts to the Far East or Europe. I sure would hate to see someone left out because of a few extra bucks. For that matter maybe we could all chip in an extra $1-$2 to create a pool to offset added shipping costs to those far-away places. Just an idea, but I'd be willing to kick in a little extra to make sure everyone that wanted a shirt outside North American continent would actually get one. Maybe should wait to see what actual costs would be?

Tiger vs Firefly on the front and Dwight's Darkside badge on the back or tracks over the propeller.

I kind of like Nicks idea of a Abrams in Stars and Stripes along with a Challenger in a Union Jack.

Somehow FSM should get some regognition on the shirt as they were the inspiration to the idea in the first place and perhaps will inspire others that see it to join up.

My vote would go with the Tiger vs Sherman D-Day theme. By the way I'm 2XX.

sounds a cool idea!Cool [8D]
i'm pretty flexible re the actual design, although personally i don't really want to go down the abrams in stars and stripes road[:0]. reason: cos i'd want to see a challenger II in the Union Flag as well!!Wink [;)]Tongue [:P]
seriously though, i feel we'd get maximimum coverage by making it either a generic track design and/or some WWII tanks (tiger and firefly my choices) on there.
the dark side idea is also cool...
let's see where this takes us!!Big Smile [:D]

Great idea! I'd like a shirt also. Will they come in 'buffet' sizes for us 'older and larger' guys?

Count me in, too. How about the tracks but use an Iron Cross, a white star and a red star instead of tanks?

I would definitely go for that. Any Sherman would cover US/UK/CAN, though I think the Firefly looks best in silhouette. Then add Panther or Tiger and T-34 to taste. Shipping to Canada wouldn't be expensive.

On the bench: 1/32 Spit IXc

Sounds good to me. However, as cool as it would be to have a plethora of tanks on the shirt, I think it should be kept to a simpler theme. One or two tanks tops. Maybe a Firefly, which could represent both Brit and American for the Allies and a Tiger or Panther for the Axis. It should definately say something about the "darkside", too. It sounds like Mike has some ideas. He's the expert.

Fun idea!!

Sounds cool to me. Count me in as long as prices can be held to < $20.
Shoot, for twenty bucks you should also be able to choose between a t-shirt or a polo/golf type shirt (3 button knit front) with an embroidered design.....

Hey guys,

Just saw this and the grey matter machinery is grinding. I have an idea that might work to make everyone happy. Busy right now, but I'll get back to you guys with some ideas and pricing info.

For those of you that don't know. I'm a screenprinter. If you want to see some of my stuff, go to www.kingskeep.com and click on the t-shirts

Now comes the killer........
Shipping to guys like Michaelvk, J-Hulk, Dwight is a logistical nightmare. It's tough enough getting the posties to get stuff to Robert (via Portland) I shutter to think about my brethern in the Netherlands, Japan and the Phillipines. yikes.

Its my only reservation.

If anyone has any ideas I'm open.

Mike

You could take one tank out of each country say like panther , sherman, churchhill , leapordA5, M1 , challanger2, thus reprsenting WW2 and present in a semi circle in front or back with a new threadhead logo on front that would represent.plus under the tanks you could have " welcome to the darkside" this would kinda give everyone some kind of tank they like, plus maybe if ya fell froggy put in there somewhere about how we crush wingy thingys .hehe
