T'anks!

Not sure about figs, I did make the TC hatch workable, and stowage is a definite maybe. It depends on what I can find in the way of suitable figs, waiting for MiniArt's new IDF set. I'd like to work from a pic of this tank in one of the "Lion and Lioness of the Line" books, it's of the crew outside the tank, either immediately before or after an action, very edgy.

She looks fantastic!!!

Very close, plus I think I'm going to add some crew figs and a bit of stowage. The pics I have of this tank show it heavily stowed.

I've got  a few, thinking of which model to use one on. The very late VVSS M50 could realistically use one, and maybe this one..... now with markings:

Funny, I'm just the opposite, but I've put off painting for so long and didn't want to miss the opportunity.

I always leave stowage off till paint, I make too big a mess out of it otherwise.

Not sure what I'm going to do about stowage, but I suspect this (and the other three I just painted) will get stowage after paint, something new for me.

Looking forward to seeing some paint on it. 

Books came, and amazingly enough there's a pic of the tank I'm doing, complete with line drawings, so I had to change the engine deck (no louvers) but the rest of it was good to go. So now it's ready for basic stowage and paint:

G, the gimel has a bin on the TC's side of the turret bustle, and the spare track holders, previously found on the hull sides, at the front, are on the turret. That I have pics of, it's just the type of bin on the rear hull I'm unsure of, but I ordered two more SagingaMartin Sherman books today.

No idea about the storage bins but she's lookin' good for sure! 

I like it. 

Some turret and hull fittings and bits found their way on, stuff that's the same whatever I end up with.

I'm thinking now I'll go ahead and scratch up the last style rear bin, and the turret box as well and save the Legends "gimel" set for another model.

Scratching my head now.... this tank probably should have the bix stowage bin at the hull rear instead of the folding tray like the M50's and earlier M51's, so I dug an old Academy bin out, cleaned it up and quickly saw that it's narrow, narrower than the PE and resin part in the Legends M51 Dalem Gimel set which showed up the other day. I think I need to either find pics or wait until my budget allows the purchase of another couple of the SabingaMartin books. In the meantime, I'm keeping my Sherman craving satisfied.

T'anks all! I have a Legends set on the way for the M51 final version, that will probably be started soon. That way I can paint them all at once (yeah, sure).

The Lion and Lioness of the Line book I got is great, now I need the next volume that covers the late M50 and M51 tanks.

Just the M51 here now, nothing major to show but I am plugging along. Every time I think I know which bit to stick on I have to go back and find a pic, but it's still fun.

I'm realizing that I have enough stuff to also do a very late M51 on the cast hull.........

Well, I'm "retired", working part time and take advantage of every minute I can to model, something I've always had to put on the back burner. I've always enjoyed shopping the vendor stands at shows, and pick up a lot of older kits, sometimes missing parts, sometimes started, even sometimes intact. With all t he new releases going on recently, the old stuff is coming down in price, and I'm not afraid to jump on something I have no real interest in building as boxed. Looking at my stash,, it's easily two thirds partial kits, sometimes just boxes of parts loosely related. It makes me happy.

I do have a little more progress on all three, just small bits mostly, but some "enhancement" on the two M50 turrets. I'll post up soon, and I'm also going to separate the M51 from the other two, it's getting cluttered in here.

Exactly how many kits does one have to build to have enough spare parts to just whip another kit together? Wow, this is pretty cool to watch.
