with the addition of the spare wheel mount as seen in a 1944 photo, building is finished... off to paint (plain Dunkelgelb I think)....

ok so managed to wrestle the 2nd set of tracks in to submission until I paint, on to more of the body.... really just the tools to do and the crew added spare wheel and it is ready to be painted...

Everytime I start a new armour kit, I always think of getting the Moelkasten tracks...but when I see the price (usually twice the cost of the kit), I just go with the kit supplied ones.  One day I will go for it...

 

 

first for me too - were part of the kit when purchased from ebay for about half the normal kit price (including Aber PE and a metal abrrel too)

Nice start and looks good so far.

I just finished the same kit   I am now working on the newer version of the Wespe from Tamyia, but I found that the track link was missing one link.  I had to cut up the spare track portion that would have gone on the tnak to fill the missing track link on both sides...other than that it was a great kit.  Will post pictures soon.  Here is the one I did ifor the eastern front during /40, /41.  The one I am working on now will be in the Italian front.  Anzio /44.   

Will post more of each in my own thread...when I get a round tuit.  With Covid..they are in short supply right now.

   Soldering is a skill, once ya figure it out it is pretty easy.

     From my training I remember that flux was your friend, it allowed a rapid and complete heat transfer from tool to finished product. Also if you can keep the heat on the item safely when the solder shines like silver you know you have a good join.

      Really nice job on this kit, looks like fun. Maybe I will expande my horizons and give that much detailing a shot. Keep it up.

I still haven't tried soldering PE though I've read several articles about it.

    I do wish that if you live outside the good Ole U.S.of A., You would be so kind to try and give us a dollar figure for your Munny? 15 Pounds doesn't seem a lot to us. What does that spend out too? I have to ask this, because although I am familiar with Pounds Sterling, I have forgotten how to  translate it to Dollar currency.

 Oh! And as far as tramslating a box of plastic to a Well built, Detailed vehicle with a big gun, You are doing a Smashing job!

Blimey, Rob - where's that shop?  And that's a lot of PE - I look forward to seeing this come together.

more progress on the interior. Need to build the 4 ammo cases (soldering) and the other 2 boxes for the right hand side as well as try to work out what to do with the radio. Have also started on the gun (nice metal barrel) and the very nice ModelKasten tracks (all clicked together firmly so far)

Started with the easy stuff (plus folding the first aid kit). Eduard only so far but Aber do have some bits on the gun that I will use. And it looks like the kit comes with 2 spare wheels (I assume the wheel frets are from the normal PzII kit that does have spares mounted) so will build one with a spare mounted on the hull armour plate and with oil cans hanging form the sides

Be watching this. I built mine before i started useing AM, thats not a bad selection you have there.

    Go for it, it is a good kit on its own but with all the AM it will be a show stopper.

Wow, that is A LOT of photo etch. I haven't built the kit but it's on my list, and I hope it goes well for you! You're brave indeed to attempt even some of that PE. And dang, £15 for the lot?! Heck of a deal!
