I was going to make it a Royal variant so let's call it a sixty-three pounder, OK?

That's a pretty sharp eye you have there! Is there something in the Danish water?
It was purely unintentional, those were there for mud pics (I think most surfaces in my house have some sort of reference material on it).

I still have to beef up the side armor of course.
And the front.
And put some side skirts to protect the hull.
And a close-proximity weapon.
And some S mines.
And some smoke dischargers.
And I guess a muzzle brake is in order so the gun doesn't recoil into the tank behind it.
And of course now the suspension would collapse.......
WHY DIDN'T I GET THE TIGER, WHY,WHY,WHY?

Why Ausf, I didn't know you were working on a Sherman. Are you building this to have something for your Tiger to play with? That's actually my plan in a year or so. I've got my Tiger I and I'm currently working on a 1/15 Stug. I figure I'll throw in a Sherman later to give them something to bat around! Seriously though, do you plan to upgun your Sherman into an Easy 8? I'd also like to know how the Tamiya kit is fitting together for you.

A nice shop owner on the net made me an offer I couldn't refuse. The M4 was $411 delivered to my home, no questions asked (I had him wrap it in brown paper to protect my reputation). It was $250 less than the best price I could find on the Tiger. I couldn't resist. The Tamiya UK site has the instructions to set it up for 4 channel which works great. The only functional difference is no recoil on the main gun, the Hull rocks back but the 105 is static.
I'm bashing a bit but no aftermarket purchases on this one.
Okieboy, The Tiger I've been posting about is Tamiya's 1/35 RC, I currently do not have the 1/16.Disapprove [V]
Yes I know I have the bleedin 1/16 turret, that was Mr. Tamiya's idea of squeezing me for cash because I needed the cupola for another project. Had I known I was soon after going to leap for the M4, I probably could have justified the Tiger I to get the cupola with the rest of the tank underneath.
The Hull and suspension went together brilliantly, it's a lot more metal than the Tiger. The bogies are really cool the way they pivot in use, even over a pencil. I upgraded the wheel bearings and the kits functions great. It also has 5 lights that you can use while in motion.
The only criticism I have is that it's from a 1974 mold so the hull details are pretty lame. I figure there will be so much junk on it to be realistic that it won't matter.
That and....... it's a Sherman.
