This is about the best I can do. Click on the above link, which brings up the Order of Battle for the 8th Motorized Reconaissance Battalion of the 5th Panzer Division, valid for Sept.1, 1939. If you click on the icons for either the 1st or 2nd companies, it will show SdKfz 223's in the line up. The only problem is that I don't know which "parts" of the "part of 5th Panzer Division" were actually involved in the Battle of Lwow, my references do not explicitly specify. One could speculate that the recon battalion would have been included, but...

My references seem to indicate that the 8th Reconnaissance Battalion attached to the 5th Panzer  Division during the Polish campaign were using motorcycles as their primary mounts. The tables of organization and equipment seem to indicate that the unit also utilized a handful of SdKfz 221 and 222 armored cars, but there is no mention of the SdKfz 223 being used at all by this battalion during the campaign. It appears that the unit utilized the Sdkfz 231/6 and Sdkfz 231/8 in the role of armored radio vehicles instead.
