just wondered if acrylic binder could help strengthen paper to make home made stencils... tried with a star (so printed & cut out star then brushed binder over edges)... doesn't lie 100% flat...
If you reinforce the paper with the acrylic binder (or similar -- I use plain PVA glue) and let it dry against a pane of glass, it will usually dry flat. Then it can be peeled off cleanly, lifting a corner with the tip of a hobby knife or razor blade. It usually makes for cleaner cuts when you're cutting your masks, as well.
