I think the helmet is Turkish WW1 era.
Why Iraq's finest is using something this old is beyond me.

It's not the size of your schwartz, but how well you handle it.

The second helmet looks similar to a WWII British para helmet (note how high on the head it sits), and the third appears to be US issue (note the gentle curve over the ears).

I know what that is and I've seen one in real life. That is one of Saddam Huesane's elite gaurd helmet uniforms. At my US air force meeting they had a presentation from an Air Force agent that just came home from Iraq and he brought one of those helmets with him. He said Saddem had these helmets designed specifically for his elite body guards. It was fiberglass and it was painted flat black just like that. I'm not joking around, that was the helmet I saw. He brought back a whole bunch of military pins and patches and whatnot and had plenty of pictures of him there. It was actually kinda scary seeing that pic and knowing what it was because I've seen it before.

Well, there's no accounting for taste. I hear they had special boots shaped like the Tin Man's feet from The Wizard of Oz too.

You mean this isn't a sneak peak at Star Wars Episode III??? That's not an early version of Darth Vader?
A day in the Corps is like a day on the farm; every meal is a banquet, every paycheck a fortune, every formation a parade... The Marine Corps is a department of the Navy? Yeah...The Men's Department.

It's a WW2 French Army Helmet. The longer backside of the helmet offers more protection to the back of head while running from the field of battle.. It comes with optional Dupa Loopas which are steel skirts that protect the hindside while running also. Not to mention the Nike Le Scrams combat sneakers...
Very popular nowdays... Germany is considering a purchase of several thousand too.
but with a spike on top. This is to stick helmet into ground and use it as a porta potty.

Don't laugh, I have one. My brother brought it back from Irag for me. On the right side it has a medallion that says Saddam, Allah, Country, inferring that saddam was greater than God. My brother said they would walk around the barracks with them on, breathing loudly and saying
"Luke, I am your father"
