Finally! Time to Make Progress! WARNING! Lots of Pics!
Posted by Duke Maddog on Tuesday, June 1, 2004 12:35 PM
Well, after a couple weeks of long tough work re-lighting a Theater, running a stage show, and striking the lighting again, I finally had some time to make Progress building the projects on my bench. Some of these I'll post pics of where I was before, so you can see how they've come along.

The most progress was made on my Airfix 1/72 scale 40mm Bofors and Tractor.

Here's where I was:

And here's the Progress I made:

I got the tractor built:

then started to paint the Gun and Tractor:

Here they are together:

Next I have to detail them and then add the wheels to the Tractor.

I also got a lot done on my ACE 1/72 scale Sa 13 Gopher Mobile AA system. This is where I was with track assembly complete and some preliminary painting done. You can also see the start of the missile carriage system:

I finished assembly on the missile carriage system here:

As you can see, I added brass rod to it so that the whole assembly can be posed in any position.

Here is the top hull after all parts have been installed:

here, I'm test fitting the whole assembly together to see how it works. It's starting to look pretty good!

My Revell/Germany 1/72 scale Challenger and Leopard 2A5 have finally gotten their camouflage patterns on, and are ready to be detailed and sealed, then I'll add decals and wash and drybrush weathering.

Here are the Challenger, before pattern and after:

And the Leopard, before and after:

Finally, I got some work done on the Matchbox 1/72 scale Monty's Caravan, and started the Humber Scout Car that comes with it.

Here's the interior of the scout car waiting for paint:

Then I dry-fit the Caravan together to see how she looks:

Later, I got some painting done on it:

I don't want to close the top till I've had the chance to detail the living quarters interior. I'm still looking for photos or drawings of how Monty furnished it while he was using it.

Well, I hope you enjoyed all this. I even got some work done on my Hind A for the Group Build, but you'll have to go catch that thread to see my progress there! Wink [;)] I apologize for the numerous photos and poor quality of some of them. I'll have more pics later when I get some progress done on my Spahpanzer Luchs and Warrior as well.

Quite a nice group of build you've got there.
Everything looks good...a little weathering to top things off and you're all set.

Once again, I am awed by the speed with which you are making these models, Duke.

Nice job and so fast, too.

Thank you everyone for the great comments! It is so motivating to hear.
Yeah, I finally was able to get time, and today I should be able to get some of that weathering done! I got a ways to go on that Bofors too, but it is coming along nicely. I'm having a hard time believing it's Airfix also!

Well, I'll have more pics on the way soon!

Nice work! I love the old Airfix and Matchbox kits. I still have several in the stash to build.

Yeah, I have a couple more Bloodhound SAM kits still to build. I wanted a whole battery so I bought four kits! I built one already some time ago. I'll have to find the pics and post them someday.
