Another Acadamey mid-tiger question
Posted by Anonymous on Sunday, June 20, 2004 3:14 PM
Ok its another acadamey TigerI mid question here. I bought the kit with interior over 2 years ago and with all the talk lately I opened it up and well..........Here is the question.
It seems you can do two different versions? It comes with the airfilters and smoke dischargers and other pioneer tools but doesnt tell you how to or were they go. So if attaching these parts would that make it difference in variant?( I know of the inacurraties)
I did not see a part for what I think is the pistol port on the right side of the turret .Now I have pics of the airfilters and smoke dischargers on the early production but dont have one on the mid.Which is why I am kinda confused.

I am in progress with the same kit, building it as a mid version, up to now I have left off the air filters and not started on the tools. I found conflicting information during research on this subject regarding equipment and colours. There are detailed articles on the following sites, both different.
http://www.wwiiscalemodels.com/cgi-wwii/ultimatebb.cgi?ubb=forum;f=80
http://www.missing-lynx.com/articles/german/mmtiger/mmtiger.htm
Further reading revealed that there were a variety of Tigers operating at any one time, with variants ranging from early, late early, early mid, mid mid and mid late.
I have decided on a mid version without the air filters but no major modifications to the interior.
As for colours, the kit instructions are next to useless, so I have followed the above articles in parts and used artistic licence for the rest.
Hope this helps.
