That's an interesting idea Bill,
I'm afraid I would just leave them in there for fear of what those kits may culminatively produce...

Hey Ausf, throw in an Airfix, Hasagawa, Fugi, and ESCI kit and maybe the parts will mix and one of them will come out accurate!! Who knows??

Here's my secret plan: I'm taking the car to the shop on Sunday morning...I'll have the guy break the tire from the rim so I can insert a washed kit, tube of glue and a bottle of XF-60.
I'll get the tire remounted on the car and drive to Albany to have Tom Coughlin yell at it. I'll drive back and retrieve a beautifully detailed Tiger, while sipping a Guinness.

I know what you're going ask...Right rear tire of course.

That's my plan.

Hey, for a real challange, lets see who can shake the box for the 24 hours, open the shrink wrap, and pour out the best model!!

Oh, I guess that wouldn't work too well with the parts being in individual bags...

Okay, at 12:00 you rip the shrink wrap, open all the bags, clip the parts from the sprues, throw them back in the box, close the box back up and tape it together, then start the shaking!! No paint shaking or the like machines can be used. At midnight 24 hours later, cut the tape, and pour out the completed kit. This would have to be done very carefully or the unglued parts might pop back apart!

9 days to go!!

Oh, Ausf, the new DML kit not only has molded on zimm, it's got decals for 007!!

How about ... no glue! You must use sheer force of will to hold the pieces together....

ausf, is a base ok too?

Larry, Great idea, 1 kit, 24 hours, NO PE, No AM, No hands!

007 would be the most appropriate, but the Zimm would be do me in as fast as a rocket vs. Herr Wittmann.

Y'Know, I'm vaccillating again. Confused [%-)] Come to think of it, Since it's August 8, wouldn't it be awfully darned appropriate to just build 007?

ausf, I've chewed my nails so much I've no arms left down to the elbow! [:0]

I'll give this a try. I picked up a Hasegawa "Last Model" Tiger today. This should be fun.

Lets see I go to work at 11pm August 7th so theres only an hour I have to work on it.
My sons birthday is August 8th so my wife will probably kill me for doing this.
I go to work again the next night so sleep is out of the question.
I found the Revell kit at a new place I found but with my luck they wont have it when I go back to buy it.
Well what are we waiting for count me in!!!!!!!

Larry: Yeah, you're right. Dragon definately seems to favor German armor over anything else. But they are starting to get other stuff out in 1/35th, so who knows!

Ed: That step, while being necessary to the proper completion of the kit, is optional in placement. It can be done at virtually any point, and may be repeated as many times as desired! lol

Great Models does show the Demolition Tiger, but only in pre-order status. I think it will be out in August.

Ya, the Bergetiger is already available. I saw it on Greatmodels. I too would like to see dragon make a 1/72 sherman. The only ones out there are a crapy revell one and an ok Italeri one.
C'mon Dragon, Answer the call!Big Smile [:D]

However, looking at the box, Dragon is planning another soon. (Can't remember what, though!)

Bergetiger with zimm, I think. It actually may be available already.

EDIT:

Weird, huh? Hey Dragon, can we have a Sherman in 1/72nd?

Hi, Ed. The kit really looks pretty good to me so far, and yes, it's 7203. As you say, I don't think there's another out there with molded zimm, yet. However, looking at the box, Dragon is planning another soon. (Can't remember what, though!) The error I spotted on the instructions is in the first step. They are showing the build of the running gear, and there is a piece that mounts to the hull behind the drive sprockets. The instructions show them as parts #11 from some srpue (can't remember that right now, either!! Sorry). The correct parts appear to be #12 on the same sprue. Not a big deal as the real #11's don't look anything like the picture. But something to be cautious of!!

Dragon does this stuff all the time! That and showing the parts mounted on the reverse side of where they should be!

wipw,
is that the Dragon #7203?
might be a stupid question, as there probably is no other 1/72 Dragon Tiger w/ zim.
in any case, i grabbed one yesterday, in case the Airfix kit is too scary.
or in case i want to build two in one day (HA!)
what is the error on the instructions? i haven't even take the shrink off the box!

meanwhile, i think my airbrush can no longer be mentioned in the present tense!
i will have to get a replacement lined up & quick.
grrrr!

Glad to have you on board, Daveash.
While there isn't a Public House close, Guinness will certainly be an integral part of my finished build.
I suspect however, due to time differences, you shall be way ahead of me....

Daveash,
I think you may be missing the point a bit. The idea is to build the same kit on the same day. Logistics make it hard for everyone from different locations to get the exact same kit, but the thought is to have to fight the same battle.
By building a 1/35 you may be excluding yourself from the trials and tribulations that will make the day.

I am still in, however I may rock the boat a little by going for a 1/35. At my LHS the price difference between a decent 1/72 and an acceptable 1/35 is negligable. I prefer to build in 1/35, especially after my experiment with 1/72 Revell tracks. The only difference is a bit more glue and paint. The build is the same, possibly easier and I still need my pub time.
Hope this is OK

Ryan, you thinking about pasting it or what??

Ausf (and all), I picked up Dragons Late with zimm yesterday. Looks pretty good. Hadn't noticed about the spare links for the turret. Those will have to come later! The hull is not cast, by the way. It's injection just like the rest of the kit! I can't wait to see this one built up. Already found the first error on the instruction sheet, though. What a pain! (No, I haven't opened any of the sealed bags!!)

Now I need to decide do I do the DML or the Revell H?? Decisions, decisions!!

i know i had declared myself as in on this one,
but i got a new part-time job & i have 2 work on
Mad Tiger Day... all day, like 8am -8pm...
doesn't leave much time 4 building, much less
posting progress updates, so i must very
reluctantly withdraw from this build. Sad [:(]
i'm looking forward 2 seeing the results of this
madness, however , & i wish u all the best of
luck w/ ur builds...
"someday i'll build a Tiger..." she said wistfully.
