The M-24's were light tanks and were originally stationed in Japan. Most of them were used as recon tanks in Japan, but were put into front line use in Korea. Needless to say they were very vulnerable to the NKPA T-34/5's. The Concord book "Tank Warfare in South Korea" shows M-24's belonging several units. After heavier tanks arrived, the Chaffee's were assigned to patrol work. HTH.
