Tamiya Tiger 1
Posted by Anonymous on Tuesday, August 10, 2004 10:12 PM
Ok as you guys know on August 15th The backwards build will commence. I have found a Tamiya Tiger 1 with PE Zimm and other stuff in it and will be getting that one. I have looked on Squadron for other Kitty goodies and see that verlinden offers alotta stuff including engine bay, rear deck and interior set (little costly but worth it I hope). I was wondering if any of you have used these sets and can tell me a little about them.

Going all out eh? I didn't know that they made one with pe zim, but someof their other kits come with it. I hope it has engine grilles, I highly recommend getting them. The Tamiya indy tracks are nice and easy to work with. As for the other stuff, I know nothing about. Good luck on your build. Is it the Mid-production or Late version? The mid had rubber tires and the late has steel rims.

Absolutely. Man what kit is this? Must have cost a penny or two. Is it the RC version?

The Tamiya Tiger 1 with pe zim... $30. All the other stuff I mentioned was all am I been researching.

Yeah, Tamiya released a limited production Late Tiger I earlier this year, that had alluminum barrel and Friulmodelisimo tracks in the kit.
About the Verlinden set, hmmm well considering that this is probably the first time you do PE on armor, its ok. But the PE is much too thick, the detail is bad considering the price and the resin parts are not up to standard.
When I got that set I was really disapointed, oh and this is the exterior set I am talking about, the engine bay is pretty good.
The Eduard set is much better, and ofcourse the Aber set is the best, but also the most difficult to build.

A Tamiya Tiger I Late for $30. That's good. Do they have any Mid-Pros at that price. All this talk lately about them, makes me want one. Tongue [:P]

The Verlinden PE Zim is ok. There are many gaps and it needs alot of work to get it to look realistic. I would recommend Atak or Cavalier Resin Zim over it.

Cheers
