Plus Model Memorial, Pics, tell me what I need to do!!
Posted by Anonymous on Saturday, November 13, 2004 9:20 PM
Hey folks, I am working on this model for a Dio. Please take a look andlet me know what I can do to make it better. I figured this would be the place, since it was 1/35 and it was going to be in an Armor dio.

Thanks,

Ted

fantastic. In fact, close your windows or you may have 1/35th pigeons trying to poop on it

Except for the snow, I would leave it as is. Looks great!

It seems that most stautes that are outdoors get very green, not sure what that is, so my only suggestion might be to add some more. Cool looking, what is called and who makes it?

The green tint on stone would be a moss, I would think. If thats the case, more would be appropriate in a really wooded area where the conditions are right for moss growth.

Thanks Jason, it was on the tip of my tongue. I've also seen them in the city as well. Of course I live in a wet climate.

Thanks for the comments guys. I tried to add the "green" effect. It show up better in real life, but I was working on a winter type situation and didn't want to go overboard. I'll definately give it another look and add some. Thanks again. BTW, it is from Plus Models, it's called "Memorial".

Less is more anyway. If you go too far, it might start to look cartoonish

The greenish tint on stone statues in cities and cemeteries is actually due to air pollution and corrosive interaction with the limestone or marble commonly used in older statuary. If it's really damp, it could be a combination of both moss/fungus and pollution accumulation through the years. Dead [xx(]

Despite that, yours looks great and if you are going to give it a nice draping of snow, I'd leave it alone as is. Thumbs Up [tup]

Bill, I did'nt know the thing about pollution. I just assumed it was fungus or moss or something like that. Thanks for the coments also. I do value ya'lls opinions.

BTW, if you need some Dio stuff, I waould highly recommend the PLusModel stuff. It's cheap and really really good. I get all mine on Ebay. DMVess is the user name. Great guy and cheap shipping.
