Old tamiya hummer will new hummer wheels/tyres fit
Posted by nigel1210 on Wednesday, July 30, 2003 4:40 AM
I have got the old tamiya release of the hummer with the bushmaster gun on it, i have noticed that the newly released tamiya hummer has better wheels and proper rubber tyres.

Does anyone know if it would be possible to put the newer wheels and tyres on the older kit and will they be the right size?

Any feedback appreciatedBig Smile [:D]

According to the Perth site, http://pmms.webace.com.au/reviews/vehicles/tamiya/tam35263.htm the new tires are held on with polycaps so some modification of the old Tamiya HMMWV suspension will be required. The old kit is the same base Italeri kit so any aftermarket tires made for the Italeri or Revell of Germany HMMWV will fit the old Tamiya kit as well.

As for size, they should be just fine. The old and new Goodyear tires on HMMWVs are a different dimension and the wheel wells are plenty big to handle minor variations in diameter.

Try this site. I bought a set from them. I believe the tires are listed under there name (rjproducts). if you have any trouble just email them. They replied to me in less than 24 hours every time (5).
