i think i could use the synthetic snot to hold some pieces together for a mock-up.

but i think i will save it to use as masking for some funky camo job! yeah!, that's the ticket.

I'm going to stretch it out, put it in the freezer and use it in place of stretched sprue for an antenna Tongue [:P]

Her in Poland I just picked up the October issue 'Chuck Yeager" on the 30th September. How long to wait for the November issue?? Always without the goodies but also without free booger!!!! Is this a good thing as I don't have a cat or dog. What will the budgie do with it I wonder? What would the wife do with it?????

Gees! At least the rest of you folks can find a copy to buy. Goo, brushes, and all. I prefer to support the local shops but the closest I can buy FSM is 50 Miles! Time to get out the "dreaded card".

Renarts, I swear I was here in my side of the planet the whole week and in no way whatsoever made contact with Mr. Hansen. So...not guilty your honor. Big Smile [:D]Big Smile [:D]Big Smile [:D]

Lucky you guys, I am still waiting for that FSM issue to hit the stands here. Man, the Inquirer gets here faster than FSM. Can you believe that?

I think we should come up wth cool ways to use the synthesnot.
Gap filler, temporary tack adhesive, camo pattern masking, base build up for ground work, roll it up as a bed roll for a figure... And hey!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! where are those build up pics Mr. Hansen? Yeah, Robert, especially after everyone gave him such good ideas for the build!! (I still think he should have tried a kit with indy links, though! Would have been interesting to see that done in the 17 hour window!! LOL)

Hey, I'm cheap. (Just ask my wife). I want freebies too! Microbrushes! Microbrushes! Wink [;)] It's probably a case of the US mail not being trusted with the delivery without damaging the free sample. I'm sure FSM loves us subscribers tooQuestion [?]

I personally feel we should present our displeasure to FSM. Even though I have some of the microbrushes, I would have liked to try out the others. And who knows, next time it might be a sample photoetch set...yeah, right.

Wow, I'm feeling kind of special. I got the newstand issue last night from the local B&N and not only did I not get the MRC flyer problem with the glue, it was wrapped in a plastic bag and had a sample pack of microbrushes.

Hey!!!! who threw that??!! That glue is for snapping the dog not me.

BTW, great issue. Lots of good stuff and I think that our female members should pick up an issue. Great article on some very talented women modelers.

I got my Nov. 03 FSM yesterday also. The glued flyer was a pain-I ripped the page getting it out. I handed the wadded up glue residue to my wife and told her it was nasal discharge (gross I know). She told me I needed another hobby. I didn't think about snapping the dog with it-cool!! Maybe next time.

YEA! Mine was finally at the house last night when I got home. But boo, it wasn't in a plastic bag and didn't have the microbrush sample with it!

I also got bleed through.

I took a look at the gooey glue last night and the only thing that bugged me was that once I got the ad out, there were no tanks! Only ships and aircraft... tossed that one on the floor. Wink [;)] Anyhoo, the glue stripps were nice and rubbery, so I could snap the cat in the butt as I read the magazine. Added to the fun.

Hope my daughter doesn't read this (it's her cat)![:0]

I just got mine ina few days ago, same thing with the glue on the pages. I was impressed by the T-34 too. I know if I had built something that quick itd probably look like one of the kits I built in my younger years. I was actually impressed to see the article about the female modelers. Wouldnt it be nice to meet a Jeri Ryan look-alike that was single and built models!!! ok, so Im dreamin., but its nice to know theyre are chics out there who build them instead of nagging about them.

Wah,Wah,Wah!! The mail hadn't come by the time I came back from lunch! (At least I got to eat! LOL) I saw some issues last Saturday at the hobby shop. Did they include the sample microbrush pack in the mailed out issue, or are they just in the over the counter ones??

QUOTE: What impressed me was Mr.Hansen T-34 weekend project. I may have to build one, because if a wing-head could build something that nice SOB in about 15 hrs. I could make somthing just as nice with alot of aftermarket and stuff about 3-6 months to do it in.

Hey, that was pretty cute, wasn't it? I think that's the best way sometimes -- rather than fretting overmuch about every little detail, just do it.

And it actually looks like a Russian tank. I think the result of some very artful buildups are models that are very interesting looking, and are very obviously the result of meticulous care and expertise, but frankly, sometimes don't look all that much like real tanks, which often have a fairly simple, semi-gloss appearance to their paintjob, even after they've been running around in the field for a while.

Puts me in the mind of the Little Orange Guy Syndrome -- the fact that so many modelers paint their military figures orange for some reason. People who don't paint them orange get frowned on by the establishment. People aren't orange, by and large, but in the community it seems to be the accepted thing to do. So the little orange guys get judged on how nicely orange they are, how realistically orange, etc., while all the time they are, well, orange guys.

Wah! I haven't got mine either and I also live on the West Coast. My LHS had some. The thing about the magazine that bugs me is you open it and dozens of subscription forms fall out. Disapprove [V]
