Was the Marine M51 ARV based off of any particular vehicle?  If so, what?  Yes I was thinking about conversion or scratch building.  Any info/advice would be apprecitated.

It was based on the M103 Heavy Tank, which was a M48 on steroids with a 120mm main gun.  The M103 and M51 ARV shared many components with the M47, the M48, and the M60 series of medium tanks. Tracks, rollers and suspension elements were the same with some modification to take into account the greater weight.   Unfortunately, there is no plastic kit of the M51 or the M103.  Commander Series Models does a resin M103 and Perfect Scale Modelbau out of Germany does a resin M51 ARV kit.
