After all is said and done, it's time to chime in. This is some really good work and it's just a shame that the rating system is down so, here's my award............

You really invoked a lot of detail here and have certainly come up with a very convincing result.  Every time I look at it I see something else.......

Wow, Mike--an outstanding job of bringing an oldie up to modern standards. This is really quite the stunner, and a real rare gem! The detail is fabulous, and the whole thing looks ready to fly!

Is the now a cab you can put on the front of this baby?!

Absolutely incredible Mike! You have done extremely well with converting your difficult to find reference into this piece of history in miniature. The wiring and heater hose as well as all of the the additional details added just brings this model more in line with reality and quite frankly (and as mentioned previously), you have brought a thrill to this old 'tower rat' throughout this entire build. I am grateful and on behalf of us old 'tower rats' (as well as any of the P1 and P2 crews out there), I thank you for bringing this to life! It is a wonderful build and it is wonderful to see! I wish that I could've been more help but, you've did fine on your own.

Please do write this up and get it published for all to enjoy and perhaps, to reminisce. If you could take more photos without the 'work bench' background, I'm sure that the 56th FA Bde guys would love to see this, perhaps to include it as well. (I can be the liaison if needed.)

an outstanding finish to an outstanding build!! I have read every post and relished every new picture. Your attention to detail along with the ability to stick with an old, fairly undocumented kit and bring it all to life is model building at its' finest. The trick with the decal paper for the marker lights is very clever and looks totally realistic-- and as already mentioned, the heater hose and its' associated harness puts this bad boy over the top!!-- Congrats on a top notch build--you built this one with PASSION bro--it really comes through-- and you are one of the last posts to have an ' uncorrupted ' five stars!!--- way to go Mike---I can't wait to see this build 'for real' in Danbury in Sept---Talk to you soon---tread

Manny - The complement from a true craftsman like you means a lot. I know this is not your cup of tea and to say this is my best work from you is truly a complement.  I have always felt my build skill and especially (it helps to be an engineer ) scratch build skills have always been very good. From build to build I have been trying to improve my finishing skills. I thank you, Doog and other who have and continue to help me.

Ian - Glad you like the hose. It was a lot of trial, error and different ideas and a big P$A but that's what makes the hobby fun. Thanks for the comments.

Karl - First thanks for the comments, like Manny from you it means a lot. As far as the cab, the kit does include the M757 Tractor. That portion of the kit has as many if not more of the problems I faced with this kit. Believe it or not I went through a half tube of Tamiya putty on this build along with globs of Milliputty and others.

The other problem is the missile is not in the transport mode and when prepared for launch the tractor is pulled out of the way. But....the same series truck was used for the mobile launch controller but the whole control conex on the back would be totally scratch built.

I will come back to it someday but for now I think I'll enter it and display it just the way it is. I need to build something simple like an M8 armor car with AM parts or something. Need to be a little mindless on the next one ....But like Arnold...."I'll be back" LOL

I was so thrilled to finish yesterday that the finish pics are not the greatest (Hummm I guess he does not like my workbench ...LOL). Sometime this week I will shoot some neutral background shots. I'll PM them to you and yes, I will send some to the 56BDE assn.

As far as in the flesh...I plan to be at AMPSEAST in Sept with this build. It's in you neck of the woods, Danbury, CT.

Bill - Thanks for looking. I will be putting something together to publish. Aaron has shown interest and wants me to stress the scratch details. One way or another I'll get something out there. Thanks for all your support both here and on Armorama.

Geat, awsome, simply mind numbingly beautiful.  Works can not begin to express the work that you have done.  You brought it to life and then some.  Keep it up and I'll be looking for your next build.  And most importingly have fun always have fun.  When it's not fun anymore look for something else to do.

   I just went thru and looked at this intire build and I hope FSM contact's you soon.I am in awe of what some of you guy's are able to do with these older kit's and some yankee ingunuity.

I agree, the day that it stops being fun and becomes a chore, I will move on but I don't see that happening anytime soon. With the support here and comments like these to lift the sprits....armor modeling is like Peter Pan....second kit to the right and on till morning!!

Pershing SGt the picture you have for your Avatar, did you get that wood model on Ebay?

i seen a Pershing Missile & Launch trailer made out of wood scale unknown, on ebay a couple of years ago

i was going to bid on it my self but did not get back home from my cabin in time to bid on it.

i think the seller was from TX

The kit was a styrene kit made by Martin Marietta who actually made the missile system. Much of the info and pics here have been deleted as this build log was bought by FSM as an article. You can see finished pics of the built launcher in my collection listed below.

As I remember the seller was from Ga.....yes the kit was bought on ebay.... in 2007

I was a 21G20 and was the Programmer Test Station Operator on Ft Redleg in Germany 1978-1980.   A bit late to the party but if you have any questions, I did 1st and 2nd level maintenence on the pershing.
